At the weekend I took my brand new Fiji Finepix camera on a walk, weather forecast was sunshine all day - half way through the walk it starts hailstoning and raining - camera was put safely in bag protected by 2 layers before the bad weather started. Got home and took camera out and it was damp, I don't think from the rain but I think from the cold outside and it being next to my body heat then being in the car, so condensation/moisture had built up. Camera switches on and off ok and I can view pictures already taken ok but it won't take any pictures. I wouldn't be so bothered that the screen had damage if it took the pics ok but no such luck so.....

I've searched online and have put the camera in a sealed camera bag with sachets of silica gel. I've also read that uncooked rice helps to get moisture out but I wondered if anyone else had any tips. It's not even been 24 hours yet and I know I need to be patient but I was just looking for help if the silica gel doesn't work.
