I'm not saying it's definitely not true, but that's been doing the rounds on the DWF spoiler thread for a while. It was rumoured he was seen in a full timelord costume.

Yes, yes I do. Mind you now if it's not true I expect we'll get a denial pretty quickly.

Yet another Sun "exclusive" ripped from a rumour on a internet message board. British journalism at it's finest!

If it's true I just hope we get filming pics everything is so hidden we really do know hardly anything about this two parter ..

David's meant to be entering his last week filming but that was him speaking on radio interviews a few weeks ago while promoting POTD...said his last day on Doctor Who would be next week -guess that could have changed ..

hope it's true -like the sound of another timelord character .

What made me chuckle was "One may possibly be on New Year's Eve". So the BBC are going to schedule their biggest ratings puller of the year on a day when everyone is not in watching television? What a clever idea! Also the line "The final episode will feature ALL the doctors companions etc." made me think that they'll print pretty much anything just to say "we told you so" later on!

Another thing that makes it less believable is the fact that they say he will be fiming in the next few weeks......well there is only one week left for DT at least....he finishes on the 22/24th of May....and I think most of them are pick up scenes by then......so unless its been all filmed.....wouldn't be suprised if it is all cobbles.....

also talks about john simms being the master again (although we saw him die) and the other usual suspects Billie Piper, Freeman Agyeman and Catherine Tat

A quick search brought up the rumour (posted in 2008) that Dalton was to play The Master in one of the 2009 Specials.

Quote:
“RUMOURED PROJECTS

"DOCTOR WHO" - TV movie planned for 2009
According to Wikipedia, Timothy Dalton is set to play the Master in the popular British TV series Doctor Who next year. The current plan for 2009 includes four specials, which means that Dalton may be at least in of those TV movies. However, the information has yet to be confirmed.
The Master is a renegade Time Lord, and the Doctor's nemesis. Conceived as "Professor Moriarty to the Doctor's Sherlock Holmes," the character first appeared in 1971. As with the Doctor, the role has been portrayed by several actors, the first being Roger Delgado who continued in the role until his death in 1973. The Master was briefly played by Peter Pratt and Geoffrey Beevers until Anthony Ainley took over and continued to play the character until Doctor Who's "hiatus" in 1989. The Master returned in the 1996 television movie of Doctor Who, played by Gordon Tipple in the ultimately unused pre-credits voiceover, then Eric Roberts, and in the three-part finale of the 2007 series, portrayed by Derek Jacobi, who then regenerated into John Simm at the conclusion of the episode "Utopia".”

If there is any truth to this (and I doubt there is) it could tie in with the other rumour that both the Master and the Doctor regenerate. If all TD has to film is a brief scene as the newly regenerated Master then it could easily fit in with the week or so left of filming.

But those quotes from David were from weeks ago -things could have changed as they filmed in the weeks since ..

agree theres likely nothing to the story but fan forum gossip though .

I'm crossing my fingers that he is to appear.

Spoiler
He is my favourite Bond (lets be honest Craig stole his act) and always gives a good performance. I also reckon he could carry the Time Lord robes

Put it in spoilers just in case

He'd be an excellent Time Lord figure. He shows real authority in his performances.

Spoiler
As The Master though? I think there's life in John Simm's incarnation yet. It'd make sense if he 'regenerated' at the same point as David Tennant

He was a great Bond. The welsh one!!

I'd love it if he were the master.

Doesn't make a lot of sense though, unless the Moff's decided to use the Master sooner than later, and is set on using Timothy Dalton in the part. Seems like a bit too much and kind of unnecessary.

Actually, I can see John Simm being as keen to avoid typecasting as DT....

Off topic, but there are rumours on DWF that the Tractators are going to be in a Shadow Proclamation scene, so when that turns up in the Sun you'll know where it came from. (That would be amazing, but sadly I doubt it's true. Hey, RTD should put the Zarbi, the Nimon and the Bandrils in it too. )

In what possible way is the fact that he's your favourite Bond a spoiler?

Because the OP put
Spoiler
Timothy Dalton
in spoilers and thus Shatterhand was carrying on the trend by only mentioning
Spoiler
Bond
in spoilers...dont get ratty with him!

If you had seen what happened to the character from Buffy who expressed similar sentiments you'd try and hide it as well

Not really. Many of the guest cast will be in it for about a minute, that's all. That's what it seems anyway. So in a 2hr finale there's PLENTY of room for all of this.

TV Times says Timothy Dalton is to appear as a baddie in one of DT's three remaining episodes. TV Times info is usually correct. however it cant be the next special as that has already been filmed and I think we would know by now if he was in it.
