Can I do "bulk delete" of recordings?

I've let series recordings run away with me - now my hard drive is almost overflowing with Judge Judy, Desperate Housewives, Gadget Show, among others. (I had a moritorium on watching progs on Toppy due to prolonged obsession with acquiring a new laptop).

I know it's my fault for not investigating the controlled recordings feature, I just set it and don't restrict it so I'm getting far more 'instances' of each programme than I should.

I've just got out my printed MyStuff manual and, to my dismay, there's nothing there about deleting multiple programms at once. It'll take me all night to get rid of them, I've only got 2 hours left on the drive

Also, I can't see the recycle bin in the archive.

Daft me, I know

Oh well, panic over, 70 hours of Judge Judy got rid of Toppy may be my "entertainment" PVR but JJ is too close to Gerry Springer

I've also managed to get rid of the timers for it, and The Gadget Show. Progress.

But trying to read my MyStuff manual (the way I've printed it, page size = A5) reminds me of grappling with a vintage Charles Dickens when I was little

As you are using MyStuff, the easy way is to go in the archive and use the blue key to mark all the programmes you don't want to keep. Then use the white key to delete all the marked progs in one go.

Also, you'll get quicker replies to your posts if you post at forum.toppy.org.uk

Thanks, Cloud. I got off on the wrong foot at Toppy.org and I've got a thin skin, so...

Like I said, at toppy.org you get a quick reply, and it usually sorts your problem. You could always rejoin under a new name.

Admittedly there is one who is big and grumpy, and there is one who wrote the manual who naturally advises that you read the manual, but they are not unfriendly.

If you get in trouble, my twin brother Black is usually there )

Too kind.

I didn't think you were treated as well as you could have been.

BTW just re-read your original post and saw comment about not seeing the recycle bin.

If you can't see the recycle bin, it may be turned off. Turn it on with MyStuff option K1 - use recycle bin.

If you still can't see it, it may be empty, and you have chosen to hide empty folders. Display empty folders with MyStuff option J2 - hide empty folders.

Get to MyStuff options by pressing Guide then Menu. Scroll down, there are lots of options. Press >> to scroll by groups.

If there's someone being grumpy over there, let me know and I'll slap them.

Nigel.

Thanks, both

Now that my emergency is over I have to resume researching a "new improved" electronic ciggy (nearly 6 months baccy free after 50 smoking years ), so I won't post my results for a while

I agree with the "can't read all the gumph", especially as I've printed it out so small ... but I don't find it as intuitive as you do.

My new problem is that I can't find the radio EPG - and Radio4 have a Smiley series starting on Saturday (I think) - "The Complete Smiley" I think they said. I'm dying to set it to record on Series Link.

I tried Opt>All Radio, but that resulted in single channel EPG for BBC1 TV

I have never used the radio services on mine so I can't help on this one. Nigel would know.

Actually, never used MyStuff... but I do recall that it doesn't handle radio terribly well, unless you first run a TAP called something like OneList, which moves the radio channels into the TV list.

Nigel, I am totally gobsmacked by your confession. To be honest, I wonder if I did the wisest thing installing it, given my doolalliness. I do like the native EPG, believe it or not.

Gomezz reminded me elsewhere that the remote has a TV/Radio button But that gives me the single-channel EPG of BBC1 TV as well

(I don't usually post the same problem in different forums at the same time - in this case I had gone to Radio & Telly because the radio EPG on my Vestel T816 was showing one BBC station's programmes under another station; eg, Radio4 had Radio2's schedule on it, they were all wrong I mentioned that I had no radio EPG on my Toppy. You might (or might not) like to know that when I deleted the stations I never use the Vestel's EPG info corrected itself )

I shall leave the "no radio EPG on Toppy" to the Radio & Telly forum now. Maybe venture back to Toppy.org.uk at some stage

I use OneList along with MyStuff so that the radio EPG works alongside the TV one and I can set the records easily from one screen and also jump from radio to TV in a jiffy - Toppy TAPs are so clever!

Have also installed PowerRestore to reset my Toppy after a power cut (we seem to get them too often!) and that works a treat too.

I use EPG Navigator, and UKAS to do my series recordings, which for me provides a very flexible solution and one that also works well with Toppy Remote Control, if i want to set timers over the web.

Improbox gives me a better info display, and jump functions, and I also have a handy tap called RadTV, which realises that the radio channels are on 7xx, and automatically switches modes when you enter a radio channel number, switching back to TV when you enter a non-radio number.

EPG Nav works just fine for the radio EPG, though it only display it in radio mode, like the built in one.
