New song is selling well!

Yes its a single done to make as much money as possible and to break records, but is this what taylor fans want?, putting money before her style and music? its certainly not what I want.

You will obviously be well aware that the single has been very well received by the majority of the fanbase so it's difficult to back up the fact that it was "just done to make as much money as possible", again Taylor of all people certainly doesn't strike me as the sort of person that makes music simply to make money. You tell by the sort of artists she is influenced by that this style hasn't just came out of the blue.

Again I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet and I certainly wouldn't compare her situation with Avril Lavigne, she was always mainstream pap anyway with a very generic written first album. Sure this album may turn out a disaster, however I wouldn't judge an album on any lead single or tiny snippets of information about the crafting of the album. I have no idea why you are against co-writers, some of the best albums of all time are co-writes.

I'm not going to let an underwhelming lead single dampen my excitement for 'Red'.

Not so sure about her fanbase being happy, lots of people with reservations lilke me on twitter. Its clearly a single thats been done to make her more popular and however you look at it its clearly changing something to make more money.
Also taylor has goen back on things she has said a few months ago hence my concerns.

Avril lavigne was anything but mainstream pap, she has some quality songs but her career was ruined when she decided to change her style and work with the wrong people and released the best dam thing, a very simular situation taylor could get trapped in.
Of course the rest of the album could be totally different but the fact this album appears to be at least half co-written dont bide well. I dont like the single as there is nothing of taylor in it whatsoever and I fear she is being forced into more mainstream pop and away from her country roots and the whole point of what her song writing was about.
Only time will tell but my excitement for this new album has dwindled considerably, I just hope my reservations are wrong but I fear everything I am thinking will be proved in October.

What things did she say that she has gone back on? I'm not sure what you are referring to so I'm genuinely interested.

I personally would love nothing more than Taylor to do a full on country album but sadly it won't happen, I'm with you that the single is far too pop for my liking aswell but I'm trying to be optimistic with regards to the rest of the album, I've made far too many mistakes before by judging an album by its lead single.

I would totally disagree in regards with Avril Lavigne, she was contrived beyond belief. Her image and persona did not match her musical output. She was pure pop while trying to convince the young audience that she was a cool punk rock star. Not to mention her horrible personality!! Taylor has songwriting talents that Avril could only dream of, they won't just disappear because she is writing with fellow musicians or professional songwriters, if anything it should refine them more.

As you say though we can only wait and see. I'm sure we both desperately hope for the same outcome!

I really like the new single, I like it for what it is. No wonder it's No1 in so many places.

He is trying his best to dispell the fears of many taylor fans about this new album but he is not convincing me at all, I think he is as worried as the rest of us.
Feel sorry for nathan chapman who was been with taylor from the start and has been as responsible as taylor for giving us such great music.

Taylor is doing amazingly well in Holland

she never had a top 10 hit, but now she's the "alarmschijf"(More airplay + alot more sales) on the biggest station of the Netherlands and she's top 10 on itunes over here

such a tune! I like Taylor - dont adore or love her but like her ...and this song is so 2012 in call me maybe way ......all credit ...pop perfection!

Glad to hear that 'Begin Again' is country! A country ballad was the right thing to release to elevate any concerns about the album and to draw in the country crowd. Here's hoping for alot more country on there.

It sounds great, looking forward to hearing the full song tomorrow.

On another note I missed the fact that Liz Huett isn't with Taylor anymore. Quite gutted about that, I personally found myself drawn to her at Taylor's concerts. I wish her luck with her solo career and await with excitement her solo career.

Liz is far too talented to just be Taylors backing singer so its no surprise. You guys (and some women) are gonna miss the eye candy at the live shows Liz is certainly a very beautiful woman.

Haha she is indeed very beautiful but outwith that seemingly a very talented vocalist and good fun by the looks of Taylor's YouTube videos.

That's a fantastic photo! When all of them hit the stage something truly magical happens. I hope she can keep a hold of most of them for as long as possible.

Yeah Liz certainly appears to be a bundle of fun, I follow here on twitter an she does write some crazy things and some of the youtube stuff is cool.

Photo is one of those powerful photos that dont need no words just one hell of a frigging talented rock star of a women and a band she could not do it without!

I am sure most will still be with her, I guess the only one I have a question mark over is Paul who like Liz may decide to do his own thing but guess as a musican not much bigger at the moment then being connected with taylor is there, and one hell of a tour coming up next year, silly if anyone leaves.

Has Liz gone for good or is she just taking some time away to do her own thing? I hope she still tours with Taylor, her and Caitlin have such great chemistry on stage.

On Jonathon Ross RIGHT NOW!!!

For some reason I didn't really like the Jonathan Ross interview, probably mostly because I can't stand Jonathan Ross but I don't think Taylor came across that well. It just didn't go aswell as I would have hoped for such a high profile promo appearance.

The fact she's on The X Factor next week is also pretty impressive. Even though I strongly dislike the lead single, if it results in more exposure in the UK and leads to a more prolonged tour over here then I'll be a happy man!

She wasn't on for that long, so I don't know if they cut it, the X-Factor lot seemed to be on for ages.
