Taylor tweeting on twitter tonight from Kansas City, the full stadium is so big she had to take it in two shots, 70,000 fans.

When was the last time a female artist could fill out stadiums like this, and this is not a one off, I think this is stadium number 9 on her current tour.
And the big one is still to come, the cowboy stadium in dallas, estimates are saying she is gonna get close to 100,000 at that one.
This girl is fast becoming a legend.

This crowd couldn't fit in one shot-- here's the left side: http://yfrog.com/nv4hsrj

Yeah pretty amazing. It's so fantastic to see how far she has come, from struggling at an independent label to selling out stadiums. I would also 100% agree - I think Madonna is the only other woman on the planet that could consistently sell out stadiums like Taylor has. Definitely not the current batch of frauds like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry etc...

Do you know what she covered last night?

She sang "Superman" from her own "Speak Now" deluxe album.

Its pretty funny to hear people talk on different boards, how they believe that Gaga is a bigger star in US than Taylor.

Another nice cover:

Ah thanks for that, very cool choice to sing "Superman". I would never have guessed that would have made It's was on to the Speak Now Tour Setlist at any date.

Gaga's bubble has definitely burst, anyone who thinks she's bigger than Taylor in the US are utterly deluded. Cumulatively Taylor is definitely the biggest female artist in the States, by a long was too.

I never had no doubt Taylor would be where she is now, eveeryone knew the speak now tour was gonna be immense and the US leg of the tour has blown everyone away, as you say Madonna is maybe the only female artist that could match Taylor live in terms of playing these stadiums.
Taylor is the biggest female artist on the planet at this moment of time, thats without a doubt.
I dont really class any of the current plastic pop artists in the charts as worthy to be mentioned in the same sentence as Taylor. OK gaga may have a bit of talent as she "states" she is a classically trained musician but as an artist she is so far behind taylor in terms of talent its not even worth comparing.
As inbeforethelock said she did superman last night, first time ever live, was gonna post a link but inbeforethelock beat me to it

In case I forget taylor announced there will be a live DVD/CD Blu ray/CD of this tour out in Novemeber.
Not much info at present only that its gonna contain a full concert and have lots of extras, not clear if the blu ray will have any "extra" extras yet.
Its gonna be released worldwide with the blu ray being region free as well.
The DVD/Blu ray will contain the full show (2hrs 15 mins) whilst the CD will contain 75 minutes of the show, shame the concert is not coming out on 2 CD's but I suppose having 2 CD's plus DVD/Blu Ray will be too much.

Many are still saying its gonna be the dallas stadium concert that gonna be on this release but she has had banks of cameras at almost all of her stadium gigs and some of the big arena shows as well.

I cannot wait for the Blu Ray of this tour, it is just too visually spectacular not to release it. Taylor and her management really missed a trick last time round not releasing the Fearless tour so this makes up for it.

It has to surely be the Cowboys Stadium gig, the worlds most spectacular stadium. I think the only concern may be how much tickets have actually been sold for the Arlington gig. I'm pretty sure she could sell 100,000+ tickets but I'm not sure if the sales are anywhere near that atm.

I think the Sparks Fly video would make me think I would love it to be the Gillette Stadium aswell.

On all accounts the cowboy stadium has sold in excess of 70,000 at present and still selling, ok she might not sell 100,000 but think it may be close.
Your right about the fearless tour but we do get to see that journey to fearless doucmentary on DVD soon which does contain a lot of live stuff from the fearless tour.

Not sure if you guys have seen these, a few years back from sound relief at sydney cricket ground in Australia.
Crowd looks awesome and there is a fantastic 10 minute rare performance of change as well, one of taylors finest live moments IMO, and I still say Change is one of the best songs Taylor has ever written.

WOW Thanks for posting that, I don't think I have ever seen that before. I remember seeing You Belong With Me from that set but didn't realize she played more than one song, Definitely agree that Change is one of Taylor's finest hours, it is just so inspirational and that nice speech in the middle of that performance sums it up. Fantastic performance!

Pleased you had not seen then, worth posting them then

I think thats the only time I have seen change sung live in front of a crowd like that, seen many accoustic performances of it but never electric.
Its a great song and Taylor pulls it off fantastically in front of a massive crowd and as you say a very insperational speach in the middle.
She has so much energy even with just a four song set.

BTW have you seen any of the allure of the seas gig that she performed aboard the biggest cruse liner in the world at the start of the year. Also this was the first live performances of some of the songs from speak now. And it was david cooks first gig on keys

Heres the story of us, love the bouncing with Caitlin and you belong to me where she goes in the crowd on the ship.

This is a great video as well showing exactly the part of the ship she played on, you can also see people hanging out of their cabin balconys watching.

Taylor sang Ours for the first time ever last night.

I think its my favourate extra track on the deluxe version of speak now, fantastic country style, lovely vibe, beautifully written song.

And a 12 string guitar for this song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK-IBZKWHhQ

Love the lyrics to this song especially the bit in bold

Lyrics to "Ours".. Music and Lyrics By SWIFT, Taylor:

Elevator buttons and morning air
Strangers' silence makes me wanna take the stairs
If you were here we'd laugh about their vacant stares
But right now, my tongue is theirs

Seems like there's always someone who disapproves
They'll judge it like they know about me and you
And the verdict comes from those with nothing else to do
The jury's out, but my choice is you

So don't you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard
The stakes are high
The waters rough
But this love is ours

You never know what people have up their sleeves
Ghosts from your past gonna jump out at me
Lurking in the shadows with their lip gloss smiles
But I don't care, cause right now you're mine

And you'll say don't you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard
The stakes are high
The waters rough
But this love is ours

And it's not theirs to speculate If it's wrong and your hands are tough but they are where mine belong and
I'll fight their doubt and give you faith with this song for you

Cause I love the gap between your teeth
And I love the riddles that you speak
And any snide remarks from my father about your tattoos will be ignored
Cause my heart is yours

So don't you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard

So don't you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
But they can't take what's ours
They can't take what's ours
The stakes are high
The waters rough
But this love is ours

But onto the facts.....
TS has sold well in excess of 22M+ albums now and has played to almost 2M people on the speak now tour, speak now is also the biggest selling album in the last 12 months.
Adele is a "tesco's artist", taylor swift has a dedicated fan base of millions and is selling out 70K stadiums on tour.
I dont think I need to say much else about who is the bigger artist do I
If you wanna start comparing Taylor to other artists in terms of who is biggest you need to bring someone a bit bigger then Adele to the table.
I always wonder, why does any of this actually matter? If you like Taylor's music, why does it matter at all if she is outselling anyone else? Taylor and Gaga are two wildly different artists with wildly different demographics, and Adele is different than them, and Katy different than them. Why do fans care at all whether the artist they stan for is somehow "bigger" in some way?

Taylor can sell all the stadiums out she wants, but I'll still prefer Rolling in the Dark to anything I've heard of hers. For me, Adele is better than Taylor, but of course that opinion means nothing to anyone else who has their own preferences in what they are looking for in an artist. And certainly my own sense of self-worth, or whether or not I enjoy a particular artists music, has nothing whatsoever to do with how many #1's they get or how many stadiums they sell out. Outside of a few pop artists, most of the music I listen to doesn't even come close to registering on the Billboard 200 or hot 100.

I would love to know just how much Taylor has grossed from this tour all in worldwide.
Its gotta be a big, nice fat nine figure amount

I know a few months back only U2 had grossed more then her.

Not really a fan of Taylor, but I've been lurking and just want to mention that the last I heard it had done in and around $100 million worldwide, so not quite as big as U2, Gaga, Madonna, etc. but she's doing really well. Taylor's only real problem with touring worldwide is that she struggles to sell big outside of the US, which means we probably won't see her name on the highest grossing of all time lists.

Just a bit of info!

I think Taylor has grossed a lot more than 100M so far on the Speak Now tour, she has been grossing around 8M per stadium show and I think she has played 9 stadiums now. So that alone is over 70M from just stadiums alone.

Considering the biggest tour of all time (which ended this year) was taking about $6.5 million per show, I sincerely doubt Swift has been taking in anywhere near that. Madonna's prices are ridiculous, and even she wasn't taking in that.

I think she meant back-to back stadium shows like she had @Gillette. She grosses circa 4 mil per stadium show.

I don`t think she makes much more than 100 mil from her tour, although she has still Australia and NZ next year. I hear that South-America is on the cards as well. But she will make huge money from her fragrance and live CD/DVD that she has out in November.

She made 45mil last time around according to Forbes. I expect her to triple that.

I didn't know Swift is going to have a fragrence. It seems like a requirement for all female popstars now.

Damn you Britney!

Taylor playing The Cowboys Stadium tonight!! Undoubtedly the most exciting stop of the Speak Now Tour so far. Cannot wait to see pics of the crowd and see how many of the 100,000 capacity she can fill up. She is also the only female artist to play the stadium since it's opening
