Nothing to do with dwts, but I was wondering if anyone knows if/when last year's So You Think You Can Dance will be shown in UK? (I'm sure we've usually seen it by now.)

No news thought living was going to show it a few months ago but it turned out to be a repeat of series 3 (Lacey's season) and they are just about to start the new series in the states

We usually see the previous series before they new one is started in US. I Hope they are going to show it (late is definitely better than never) as it is my favourite dance show.

No news yet, and the new season starts soon!

Also, there's no other SYTYCD thread yet so I guess this goes here:

I don't know what to say, seriously. I'm just like - shocked. Totally shocked.

OMG - what a dreadful situation. And to think he was so well thought of.

Incidentally - is he related to Victor da Silva (World chmp showdancer) who recently danced with Hanna Kartunnen?

I've never watched So You Think You Can Dance - I might take a peek if it is ever shown.

It's a great show; super talented dancers. The standard of dancing is quite amazing - especially as it gets nearer to finals. But don't expect to see ballroom and Latin. They do feature a little, but fair to say probably "not as you know it!!!!"

I don't think so, can't find anything about it online so I guess not.

I know. It's completely thrown me to be honest. I did not see that coming at all. What a horrible situation.

Is it like similar to Strictly Dance Fever? I saw an episode of Step up and Dance the other week and I think have that show confused with So You Think You Can Dance!

Kind of, only it's far better than SDF.

And Step Up and Dance as well, I watched that too

It is only similar to S.Dance Fever in that dancers audition and are paired up by the organisers, and are told what dances they will be performing etc. There the similarity ends! It's a bit like comparing a Bentley to a Mini - they are both cars, but that's about the only likeness!

I love STep It Up... although found the first few episodes took a bit of getting used to, if only because the contestants (the boys mostly) were soooooooooooo bitchy to & about each other! I missed the final last night as we were out (dance practice), so will catch up with it tomorrow night - I hope Nick wins, and if not Nick then Moochi.

My mistake - I was confusing Nick with Cody.....

Step It Up:
Spoiler

SYTUCD:

I've lost count how many series there have been; when you say Series 5 & 6 both on this year, does that mean UK going to see last series (5???) and latest series (6???) this year, or that there are going to be 2 new series in US this year?

(UK haven't had last years' series yet).

The Uk has seen series 1 - 3

Series 1 - Nick and Blake
Series 2 - Benji and Travis
Series 3 - Danny and Lacey (Still can't believe Sabra won this series)

So

Series 4 - (Last Summer season in the States) - Chelsie
Series 5 - on the tv soon in the states
Series 6 - Auditions soon shown in Autumn

Part of me wishes that Watch had the rights to this series because then we might see it and be up to date Living has treated the show terribly esp repeating series 3
Spoiler
instead of showing series 4

Doubt it, but you never know.

Adam Shankman has also joined the US SYTYCD panel as a permanent third judge. There will be a rotating fourth judge, but only on occasion.

Is anyone watching the Canadian SYTYCD? I loved Corynne and Austin's dance last night. They're one of my two favourite couples (the other being TJ and Everett). I love the variety of dance in the Canada version.
