He wasn't going to get further anyway. He was just an old guy who danced funnily and got put through by Piers and Amanda trying to wind up Simon. A bit like the really crap singers that are so crap that the audience start singing and swaying.

I really doubt it. How many years was he an editor? And how many pictures did he print? How many names were included? We're talking tens of thousands over his career. And I doubt this stands out to him as a career highlight for reporting. I can only vaguely remember the Grand Prix incident, but I had no idea who it was let alone his name or what he looked like. It's not like this forum lit up with people that recognised him.

I think Piers may have been being a touch sarcastic when he said that. At least I hope so!

There was no talent anyway

I was there at the audition and the audience were laughing at him

As an Irishman,I feel very uncomfortable seeing this individual on BGT.

What he did in the Olympic Marathon was outrageous ; he robbed that poor Brazilian guy of his gold medal.

I don't believe for one moment that the producers didn't know who he was and I'd be prepared to bet Piers Morgan recognised him.He clearly has mental health problems and should have never been allowed on the show.

I think the issue isn't whether it should have been broadcast, but rather whether he should have been allowed into a theatre full of people in the first place.

Given what he did at the British Grand Prix, he clearly has absolutely no regard for anyone's safety, and quite frankly, he was liable to do pretty much anything.

I cannot believe that nobody recognised the guy, given he was even wearing the same costume as on previous stunts - I recognised him immediately, and it says a lot for the BGT producers that they were willing to endanger so many people in the hope of making exciting telly.

Ratings first, "talent" second.

For what it's worth, Horan got picked to peices by Ray D'Arcy (one of Ireland's best DJs) in an interview the other day. Absolutely lambasted him for what he did to the Brazilian runner. If Horan thought he was going to get a "sher aren't you great, sher, doin' yer little dance for the Brits" puff peice, he was sadly mistaken!

Nobody in Ireland supports him. He's a dangerous embarrasment. Shame on BGT.

I'm sure Piers Morgan would have known who he was or recalled something about him.

Do I believe the producers knew nothing about him? No.

Horan has said the producers knew about his past.

As other contributors have pointed producers searched for unusual 'acts' on the internet and asked them to take part in the stage auditions.

The spokesperson for the production only seems to refer the audition that was recorded, no other audition...so was Horan 'invited' onto the show without having auditioned?

The show seems eager for publicity no matter what it involves.

Heard him on radio yesterday and he says he told the producers who he was and what he had done in the past. It's very controversial that his audition was shown ; this nutter has been jailed several times for his activities.

I remember very well the interuption he caused at the British Grand Prix and it was a miricle that he wasn't run down after choosing to walk onto the fastest straight of Silverstone, just goes to show how good the drivers are at fasdt reactions to things in the track.

According to the newspaper article mentioned in the Matt Lucas thread http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1033612, this person has now been axed from the show

Looks like the producers have been rumbled.

Throw in how edits have been done create 'stories' then what else have the producers been up to and what else have they already got planned.

Is the outcome of the series down to Simon rather than the public?

Sorry, but I don't trust the producers of this show to play fair.

The really bizarre thing about all this is that as an audition, his Irish dancing moves were absolutely terrible....he wasn't doing real Irish dancing steps at all,it was more like Stavros Flatley's audition.

He clearly has never trained in Irish dancing, and for Piers to say he represented folk dancers up and down the country was ridiculous.

I just feel sorry for his family. I remember reading an interview with his brother about how upset he was at what was happening to his obviously mentally ill brother. And BGT knew exactly who he was when they showed this audition.

Sorry to sound ignorant, but what exactly did he do at the Grand Prix and/or to get jailed? (I've never heard of him before).

His past besides, WHY on earth did the judges put him through anyway? He was clearly a talentless ijit who had about as much idea about Irish dancing as I do about building a rocket capable of landing on the moon!!

Is it just a case of the highly deluded producers & judges think publicity - ANY publicity - equals ratings, so let's be as controversial as possible?

He actually is ; his interruption of the Olympic marathon was front page news for days. Most Irish people were angry with him and labelled him a disgrace to the country.

He ran onto the track during the British GP and the cars had to swerve to avoid him.Absolutely insanity of course ; if a car had hit him,he and the driver would have been killed instantly. He received two months in prison for this.

He did it promote the idea that the world is going to end shortly 'according to the Bible'.

Thanks for reply. What a nutter! Only 2 months - 2 decades would probably have been more realistic. It's one thing putting one's own life at risk by doing crazy things, but something entirely different to risk other people's lives.

Just found out about him being on BGT. What he did during the Olympics in 2004 was just horrible. Ok, he didn't kill anyone, but attacking the guy in front, and possibly costing him a gold medal, and for what?

What a loser. Must be completely brain damaged.

At first glance, I presumed that this was in the wrong section and I was expecting to see several One Direction fans getting angry at the thread-starter for spelling Niall Horan's name incorrectly!
