Diversity 24.9%
Susan Boyle 20.2%
Julian Smith 16.4%
Stavros Flatley 16.3%
Aidan Davis 6.5%
Hollie Steel 3.9%
Shaheen Jafargholi 3.8%
Flawless 3.6%
Shaun Smith 3.4%
2 Grand 1%

Not that bad then. Fifth out of, what, thousands and thousands of people ain't too shabby.

Also he got over 50% in the semi-final. Fantastic!

Probably all teenage girls on their mobiles lol

He did very well considering... but look at Diversity. That would just take votes off other acts.

Ha, well i'm not a girl and I voted.

Slightly annoyed that Stavos Flatley got twice the amount of percent that Aidan did, though. I really didn't get their appeal.

Their appeal is more about being laid back, open, refreshing and just glad to be there though, their act isn't especially funny and it isn't really talent but hey.

I didn't vote - I don't like the cost of doing it, it's stupid and one vote doesn't change much anyway. If I did, I would have had to vote twice to vote for Aidan, even though I like him, he wasn't my favourite especially as he wasn't as good as in the semis. (But we all understand why that could be).

Yeah. I thought their auditon was quite funny, but then the shock factor kinda wore off and I was pretty bored of them. They seemed like great guys, though.

I multi-voted. I take my reality TV way too seriously and I think i've spent a fortune voting on these types of shows. I know he wasn't spectacular on the final but he was still my favourite and the semi-final performance was one of the best performances of the series for me. Looking back I guess my votes didn't really make much of a difference, though!

Be interesting to see what happens with this one in the next few years - this kind of act has such a limited shelf life and he can clearly do so much else. So encouraging he can do this by himself when in a big city like that from a working class background he could easily get involved in other less savoury activities.

Soon he will need to decide what he wants to do - or he will run the risk of being like a football player who can play in several positions but not able to hold one down, he'll spread himself too thinly.

Really? Why?

(forgive me if it's a stupid question, I genuinely don't know)

Well, there's only so much a break dancer can do isn't there? Look at George, he hasn't done that much since winning - Cowell even released that awful song. He'll make a few appearances every so often but probably not enough to live off.

Not that Aidan won't adapt.

Oh, right. Fair enough.

Ah well, he has tons of opportunities........but let's hope he does what Diversity are doing, and puts his education first!

Can't see it any other way, he looks like he wants to do his best at everything he tries, which will include school work.

Random but I thought Dec was fantastic with him on Saturday.

Ant and Dec are great with kids but Dec in particular has really impressed me with the way he's handled the upset kids this year (Natalie, Hollie, Aidan).

Aiden struck me as a very well-adjusted, confident boy who clearly has great parents. Of course he was upset. A very natural reaction to disappointment.

He has a natural talent for dance and movement. I hope he carries on, perhaps with a bit of professional training along the way. It's rare to see such raw talent in one so young. He's got it.

It hardly matters what he does now. He's young and has natural confidence. And with the love and support of his parents he will achieve a lot in his life, in more than just dance.

Not every entrant to a talent contest has to go on and make a career out of a few minutes in the spotlight. He's got time on his side. Those who are deciding how long he can last and what he can do are forgetting that at his age he has a lot of time to do whatever he wants to do.

Yes, Dec gave Aidan exactly what a kid in that situation needed, an arm around the shoulder, the reassurance that it'll be OK whilst he lets out his tears. I'm surprised he hasn't been called for it though.

This is an interesting snippet though, especially considering this lad is a year older than Aidan and no means as well trained, nor did they take it so seriously, admittedly he doesn't look too physically fit and probably doesn't have the martial arts background Aidan does, but still...

“Fellow contestants Stavros Flatley - aka Demetrious Demetriou and his son Michalakis "Lagi" Andreas - told BBC Radio 5 Live's Victoria Derbyshire show they could sympathise with Boyle's situation.

"It's really, really tiring and even Lagi's not too well this morning so we said that he wasn't going to go to school," said Mr Demetriou.

"It's just so draining. They did warn us, they did say to us it's such an adrenaline rush and you got to be really careful the next couple of days after."”

Not expecting him to uproot trees now, he's a smart boy and he's obviously well brought up so I don't think he'll be tempted to rush into anything, but he's one to watch anyway quite simply because he seems to be able to do anything.

Just needs his feet to be kept on the ground and to carry on the way he has been - it is quite easy for something like this to make him big-headed and think he is owed something which is completely neglecting what has got him as far as he has (which is hard work, dedication and just sheer natural ability). Of course if he really wants to dance now, he'll need lessons.

And of course, he's a young boy who recently turned 12 and still has to go to school (on that note, they should leave him where he is) and get some GCSEs and A-levels then decide what to do. That way he isn't sacrificing his education in favour of seeking stardom at an early age - which, to be honest, he already has.

Thanks for the Stavros snippet, FC.

Alot of people think Britains Got Talent isn't as emotionally or physically draining as X-Factor just because of it's rather short length (at least compared to other reality shows) but people forget that there's young kids involved in this show, you've got to travel to London to find out if you're in the semi's, you've got to go home and rehearse for the semi's, back to London for the semi's, rehearse everything on a stage which is usually shared with the other acts, go on TV for the performance, go back on for the results, half the time you need to do BGMT, if you get through the semi's then you have to rehease your new routine in the space of a few days (or in Aidan's case, less than 24hours) and then go back on to perform, then go back on for the results. Meanwhile you're busy with your personal life, most of the acts get negative stuff in the press, the attention can be stressful for young kids and you're always a mix between nervous and excited.

And then to travel home and get up early on the Monday morning for a long week of school? STAY OFF AND LIE IN BED AIDAN!!

I don't think any reasonable person would deny any of the kids a day off today - especially not one who was shattered enough to break down into tears due to the tiredness.

Stavros also semi-ed on the Tuesday which gave them 3 more days rest/recuperation, I guess though they aren't as fit as Aidan is it still shows how draining it is - even for something less physically tiring like a singer.

And of course, it's better to take one day off to get right than to struggle into school and then make it worse, or spend more time getting over it. (I've done the latter a few times before) Provided they make up the time and don't get behind it shouldn't matter - though we're talking year 7/8 kids here rather than further up the school where they could miss something important.

Perhaps a case for a clear day between the finals and the semis, at least. That would give them a day or so clear to have a lie-in, get more rehearsal time, and another night's sleep without having to be on BGT before having the final day. I guess them having Wednesday clear for the football didn't help (though I bet titch would have moaned about being on then, as well as the result) because then they could have saved Friday as a clear day.

Regarding the travelling, I think they have pre-decided the semi finalists before they screen the auditions (though obviously they are told to keep quiet about it), they audition in Jan/Feb and we don't see the acts until April so that's plenty of time for them to prepare and decide, so it's just a case of a day to find out when they decide unless they write or something. Otherwise, I think they put the semi finalists up in a hotel - from the reports about Susan this is near Wembley this year - so they only have to travel from there to the studio and they would probably bus the kids back earlier. Slightly less than titch having to go back to Birmingham on Friday which would have been pretty awful. I'd presume they'd kick them out the day after they finished so they would have had to go back yesterday - checkout time is normally 10/11 so he's had no lie-in... No wonder they're tired.

What are you studying for? (at risk of taking this o/t, but at least it's evolved naturally and we've probably ran out of Aidan chat)

My Standard Grades. Done most of my exams, only have one more left to go (Thursday). Subjects are English, Maths, Biology, Travel and Tourism, History, Music, Computing Studies and Hospitality.

*attempts to revert back to Aidan chat*

In a few years Aidain will be picking his subjects too. I wonder if his school does dance lessons? My school does ballet and hip-hop but only girls go. Would secretly love to learn to dance.

Sounds like fun, and IIRC your S-grades are harder than our GCSEs. Aidan will probably have to pick about 10 of them for the end of year 9 (he's 7 now). Good luck with your remaining exam.
