I was watching that Martin Clunes program 15 minutes ago. She was recording it but I watched it live. Nearly at the end and the recording stopped. Checked the time and it was running a few minutes late. Had this with the Wire recently.

So I tried to pad the recording time by a few minutes either side of the scheduled start. Selected menu then in to "settings" then "recording" then "recording start time". Every time I tried to change it the box rebooted. Same happens when I tried "recording end time". Anyone else come across this.

Yes, some time ago I was playing with padding & I had the reboot problem. I did a factory reset & then never went near the padding controls again. I can't say I have seen anyone else write about this problem.

Me too - seems to be missing the end of a lot of progs of late - esp Eggheads BBC2 - so went to add time to end and the pvr reboots every time I try to set the end to anything but auto (and goes back to auto)

Me, on the box I sent back. Happened repeatedly and factory resets didn't fix it.

I take it your new one doesn't have these problems? Did your old box have the latest firmware/does your new one?

The old box had 1.00.02, the replacement 1.00.03.

The new box doesn't (yet) have the padding problem but has frozen a few times. The last time was straight after booting up. I changed channel soon after I got a picture and it was unresponsive after that.

I think it would be helpful when people post problems if they mention this- then we could possibly establish a pattern- suffolktoon, sedum and some@one can you confirm what firmware you have?

Apologies. I checked last night & firmware is 1.00.02. This was installed when I first turned on my machine in December. The HDR tells me there is no upgrade available, so where did 1.00.03 come from?

It's installed on newer hdr's but has never been transmitted. Don't think anybodys really sure what's differerent. Bob-Cat says they are only minor differences although at least one poster claims to have installed with one cable and switched to 2 without a factory reset or changing the secret menu setting.

Factory reset has resolved this problem - - shame about having to reset all my numerous series links though

Right, so everyone who has this padding problem is using firmware 1.00.02! It makes you wonder how accurate Humax's statement was that 1.00.03 was only a minor upgrade and how many other problems exist on 1.00.02 boxes that don't exist on 1.00.03 ones.

As I have 1.00.01 I have even more problems as I can not use series link and even trying to set weekdays.
unfortunately I bought the box after the latest firmware update, I just hope it is not due to a faulty box.
I am setting weekday progs as each day separately as weekly, as I was missing each monday episode.
hope this works ok next mon. - has been ok other days so far

01 should not stop you recording series link. About the only difference is that 01 allows you to delete while recording.

Morning Graham. Not sure if you recall but during the thread your referring to here I asked the other forum members if any of them using .03 could report back on the diagnostics showing two tuners working even when only one feed was connected. Could you put the question to members on avforums and hummy.org as I don't have membership on either but would be interested to know if this issue has actually be resolved with the new s/w version. thanks GC

Barry at Hummy.org has just confirmed that a second cable is not auto recognised. Just like 02 you need a factory reset or change to the secret menu.

Jonesyboy's Freesat PVR with 1.00.03 Did not require a reset

No I did not watch him fit the cables. However he did not do a reset and when I asked if i needed it he replied no.

Mine worked without a reset ,whatever Barry from Hummy.org says, or your doubts. Why the big deal. My second cable was somehow recognised. Although I did not watch the installers every move, It was only the physical part I could not see. I was watching the TV screen. At no time was a reset or any other alteration made. I was here you weren't.

I fail to see why you are making an issue of this. My PVR works correctly
