I remember testing dual channel recordings and for conflicts in recording when I set more than one or two recordings at the same time on the epg - I did try quite a few options.
I am sorry but I don't want to risk resetting my set again unless I absolutely have too - if the set crashes again which it hasn't done for weeks now, I will try though to repeat the situation. I have version 1.0.0.2 firmware. Perhaps I did the unexpected while flaffing around ![]() Patrick Start an instant recording in BBC HD 108, now start a second on 951 BBC 1 CI. Now tune to any other channel and press pause, does this pause the 3rd channel you are watching ? Graham |

Hi Patrick, just to be sure that you have 100% dual capability can you try this

Graham As I say, I really don't know what happened before - all I was saying is that the same thing as happened to jonesyboy seemed to happen to me too. I am pretty sure there was something odd about it but I am afraid I wouldn't have a clue as to how to replicate the problem. It is certainly a mystery. Patrick |

Hi - Graham - that worked perfectly - I started recordings on both channels and then went to BBC South 101 and tried pause. It was fine.

Thanks for that, this confirms you have 100% functioning.
We will never know, because this was not the test done before the reset, and Patrick could have inadvertently been testing dual recordings on the same transponder with only one cable active. I'm not doubting anyone here, just saying there is uncertainty. Rgds. Les. |

It certainly deepens, the poster has v02 firmware which completely throws the v03 theory out of the window. By far the greatest number of hdrs out there have this which makes it a real mystery.

If it had I amongst others would have been mightily pleased. All I am saying is that despite repeated attempts to reproduce this no else can. If even 1 person posts this has happened You shall have my humble apologies.
Well one person has posted a similar experience.![]() Different firmware maybe.![]() A little grovelling is called for after the grilling you gave me. ![]() Now I do have one rather far fetched theory on this after really plumbing the depths of my brain.Much to my horror and protests, When the installer did the work, at no time did he switch off the PVR, either at the mains or box. Could this have caused the box to recognise the cable ![]() I wonder if froxfieldrover did the same. |

It certainly does thicken as a different firmware was in use. However, may I remind you of your comment

Ahaaa...perhaps not so far fetched!! I did indeed have an f-connector come loose and and I took it apart to reassemble it without turning off the box (to my disgust too but it didn't worry me afterwards as everything was ok) .. I wonder if it was related to that then

A very interesting experiment
Barry at Hummy.org has just tried out a fascinating experiment to test the connecting 2nd cable live scenario.
http://www.hummy.org.uk/forums/showp...9&postcount=17 You will see that this definetely does make a change but does not at least for him give 100% 2 cable working. Can I ask the 2 posters who got 2 cable's working this way to repeat the record 108, 951 at the same time but this time try watching and pausing 204 Euronews. |

That scenario works absolutely fine on my box. It also makes a fine cup of coffee.![]() Apology accepted If you had been the recipient of multiple posts doubting you, you would have felt the same as me.No matter. it looks like my wonderful memory may have stumbled upon an explanation. I am no expert but I do have an attention to detail. Maybe doing a live connection is the answer.I have said a few times, modern technology does do strange things at times. |

Thanks for the test, won't be recommending anyone tries connecting a cable live though it's not a good idea although I admit it's usually OK if you are carefull. It's so much safer to call up the appropriate menu and change the connection mode.
