Has anyone any idea why some of my texts take ages to reach my friend...

I send about 20 texts a day to a friend. Some reach her phone instantly but some can take up to an hour and sometimes even longer.

This has been happening ever since she changed phone a few weeks ago, she now has an LG (dont know model) and is with Orange.

It cant be my phone as all my texts to others are instant.

She contacted Orange and they said it was nothing to do with her.

Its so frustrating!!
Any ideas please?

The only thing I can think of is that she may (at times) be in a poor reception area?

I have exactly the same problem. A friend got a new phone with a new sim card and now occasionally text messages to her can take hours to be delivered.

I would turn delivery reports on but Orange now charge you for them

I dont have any problems with texts to anyone else and neither does she.

They charge for delivery reports on contract phones but not pay and go ones.

Is there any way to get them to drop the delivery report fee?

On my Nokia, if the signal is on Zero Bar then it shows an arrow and an out try type symbol. It will retry at a set time unless I resend from the outbox. Maybe it could be that the text has not left your phone when you originally think it has. It could be down to the network being busy. In the early days of texting I do remember this being an issue, or around times such as new years eve.
