Don't get me wrong I love their music and I'm going to see them in July but they've only had one studio album since their last best of.

If they are releasing another I would agree with you on asking why? I mean it seems pointless.

I think it might be because of their recent publicity, I doubt it'll be different from the first one.

It must only be a single.

I hope they do. I've always preferred Oasis overall but they've milked that cow for all it's worth now whereas Blur are much more creative and definitely have a good few albums left in them. I reckon they will to be honest.

Possibly the decision of their label rather than them themselves ?

Yeah, the label own the rights to the music so there is a good chance it is their decision. I know greatest hits albums have been released before against the wishes of the artist involved.

Entitled Midlife: A Beginner's Guide To Blur, the collection will include 25 tracks spanning the band’s seven studio albums.

The collection has been designed as an introduction for those who might have missed out on Blur’s prolific recording career. A collection of singles and album tracks from across the band’s releases, including album tracks Sing (Leisure), Strange News From Another Star (Blur), Badhead and This Is A Low (Parklife), sitting alongside the singles Girls & Boys (Parklife), The Universal, (Great Escape) Out Of Time (Think Tank) and Beetlebum (Blur). The collection will also include Popscene which was originally released in 1992 and has not been available since.
So not quite another greatest hits.

Well if they are going to release another Best Of then at least it will include the more rarer tracks instead of Parklife and Song 2 which everyone who wants them has probably got by now.

The new "best-of" has a wonderful, and quite brave, tracklisting. No "Country House", "There's No Other Way", "To The End", replaced by some forgotten gems like "Strange News From Another Star" and "Blue Jeans". It certainly isn't another Greatest Hits...

CD 1:

1. Beetlebum
2. Girls & Boys
3. For Tomorrow
4. Coffee & TV
5. Out Of Time
6. Blue Jeans
7. Song 2
8. Bugman
9. He Thought Of Cars
10. Death Of A Party
11. The Universal
12. Sing
13. This Is A Low

CD 2:

1. Tender
2. She's So High
3. Chemical World
4. Good Song
5. Parklife
6. Advert
7. Popscene
8. Stereotypes
9. Trimm Trabb
10. Badhead
11. Strange News From Another Star
12. Battery In Your Leg
Here's the new best-of (minus "Popscene") as a Spotify playlist...

Are you having a laugh? Only 2 good songs? They made dozens of great songs, whereas Oasis have barely made a decent song since their 2nd album.
