Caricatures? Bloody hell, the budget is limited this year!

By a very famous cartoonist.

I thought it was one of the best prizes they've had; Scarfe is a great artist and the charicacture would make a great memento/keepsake.

Gerald Scarfe is a very famous cartoonist

Its a bit old now, but if you have seen Pink Floyds' "The Wall" Scarfe did the cartoons for that.

It was indeed shite - reminds me of the post where someone said the prize was that Margaret's bike was down the stairs, and they were all allowed a ride on it!

Never heard of him, most of the prizes this series have been pants. The cartoons didnt look anything like them.

If he were to do a caricature of me I'd be very honoured.

I thought they were rather good and funny personally, especially Lorraine's one.

Crap prize????

If I was there I'd appreciate that as one of the very best prizes on the show.
It's Gerald Scarfe.
It's something which you could treasure for the rest of your life as a memory and a keepsake.
Much more valuable than a one off treat of drinks in a penthouse or something.

For me that's probably the best prize I've seen on there.

He also did the titles for Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister

It's still just a picture to me...I don't get this famous people thing. I've seen charicatures on the street just as good (not to say his weren't).

I agree. He's an institution.

He seemed like a really lovely guy too - came across as warm and affable.

Isn't he married to Jane Asher or someone like that? I can't remember now.

Perhaps you should have googled Scarfe before being so dismissive of the prize.

The value of these caricatures will long outlast any other prizes offered this series.

JJ and Alrightmate - I'm with you on this one.

Just give me the chance to be caricatured by Scarfe. He could portray me warts and all - surely that is the talent of the caricaturist!

I thought it was a great prize and he captured them very well, they are very lucky.

He is indeed married to Jane Asher.

I sometimes think 'famous' just means more than two people have heard of you. For younger people the name Gerald Scarfe will mean nothing! He's not exactly down with the 'yoof' generation, is he? Now if it was Rolf Harris doing the drawings... well, he's a legend.

I agree with you 100%!
Absolutely cracking prize, not to mention a gorgeous piece of artwork for each of them!

He is a very famous artist not just caricutures.

One day those pictures will be worth something.

I think the prizes have been good.

Katherine Jenkins, Gerald Scarfe.

I think S'Allan is getting classy in his old age

I would've liked that prize, even though I haven't heard of Gerald Scarfe.

Gerald Scarfe is a legend - it was an excellent prize.

Having such a keepsake created by him would be excellent.

I would rather have that than have to sit through the warbling of the vastly overrated Katherine Jenkins....

I thought the point was the 'prestige' of who was doing the caricatures, and the obvious value, on a personal level as well as possibly financial, of them, given the artist.

He's very well-known. Anyone who reads the Sunday Times for a start will have seen his cartoons every week.

It certainly beat laughter yoga as a prize.
