Couldn't stand him during the show. Then he came on YF, and seemed nice, dammit!

He is young and I think he felt he had to bulldoze his way through. I bet he isn't like that at all r eally.

He acted like an arrogant c**k to compensate for a lack of maturity and experience but then started to tone it back which didnt sit well with the producers, that is why his firing came as a bit of a shock (deserved all the same) as they had no more use for him if he wasnt going to be good t.v anymore.

I have admit to feeling a little bit sorry for him when he started shaking his head in the boardroom.

That's what I thought as well, I don't think he's all that bad in real life, he just desperately wanted to win the show and thought arrogance was the way forward.

He also said that Debra is a lovely woman, so there's obviously a lot we don't get to see.

In the last couple of epsiodes he did come across as a lot better. On YF, we saw a different side to him. Probably the real Ben. I would bet in real life he is more like the Ben on YF.

He was young, enthusiastic, but not much in terms of experience. He did well, to get as far as he did.

Good luck to him.

Just think about the goldfish - you'll feel less sorry for him then

I felt sorry for him as he's so young and like he said, the rest had 10-15 years experience that he didn't have as he was so much younger! He seemed really nice on YF and the lady guest also thought so! I'm sure he'll do well in his work life!

i felt a bit sorry for him on yf too - especially after he appeared to have mellowed out since the recording of the series

however, i have to admit to being in hysterics after he tried to save himself in the boardroom by bringing up 'sandhurst'...

Is anyone else on Twitter? 'Sandhurst' was actually a trending topic last night. Had me in stitches.

I was wondering why they sacked Ben yesterday over Debra - didn't make sense to me. There were weeks in the past when Ben should have gone, yesterday wasn't really one of them. Now you put it like that it makes perfect sense.

Where's your 10 - 15 years ?
Ben 22
Debra 24
Howard 24
Kate 27
Yasmina 27
James 32
Lorraine 36 and she's the oldest

There's only James and Lorraine got 10 years or more on him. Mind you, it is hard to believe that Debra is only 24

It was extremely satisfying to see his eyes well up with tears over being fired after the way he's treated others in the boardroom and got away with it. And the way he shaked his head in fear and realisation as he was about to be fired was also satisfying. The way he punched down on the couch outside of the boardroom summarised what a complete and utter tosser he had been throughout the show. My only complaint is that this didn't happen weeks ago.

Other things that made his firing so delicious were the comments he made during the show that revealed his ridiculous but genuine belief that he was actually a strong candidate, and also his dislike for James and how sickened he must have been to be fired over him.

He got off lightly on You're Fired with a more sympathetic panel. There were too many green "Hired" cards held up at the end for my liking. And It annoyed me how he kept going on about how young he was. I've never liked Ben but one thing I could've said about him is that he never really used his age to excuse his many faults like Alex did last year - but no, he kept going on about how young he was. There are candidates more or less the same age as he is who weren't that bad.

The only reason Ben may have seemed more human and toned back in the later weeks was because he was brought down a peg or two by Debra when he was in the boardroom as PM. He was shown up as being a spineless cretin in that episode and ever since has only dared to criticise the candidates that he thought were weaker than him, like James.

Good riddance.

Where's Harry Hill's "Apprentice in a nutshell" when you need it.

Ben: "I am going to go all the way"
Suralan: "You're fired"

What I liked least about Ben was the way his whiney voice just got louder and louder whenever he was annoyed (especially in the boardroom)

I was satisfied when I first saw it, for a fleeting moment. Pity has since set in. He is clearly aware that he came across like an idiot. I am still slightly annoyed by him though - he keeps on about his imaturity and age being the problem, in a kind of not really taking responsibility way. He is starting to remind me of Alex 'I'm only 24'.

To be honest Ben hasn't actually bothered me for weeks. I felt kinda sorry for him last night and I thought he came across surprisingly well on YF (a great deal better than Pantsman for instance).

I'm not denying he's a nob, but he's a nob in that young, bounderish, 'I think I'm King of the world, but only because life hasn't kneed me in the balls yet' kind of way. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years he turned into a thoroughly nice bloke.

'Sandhurst' became the 'But I'm only 24' of this series. But I thought Ben was a lot more likeable than Alex.

i thought he conducted himself very well on YF.
it was his time to go though.

He wasn't that bad. I think for his age (22) he did quite well and acted like most 22 year olds would have acted.
