It was extremely satisfying to see his eyes well up with tears over being fired after the way he's treated others in the boardroom and got away with it. And the way he shaked his head in fear and realisation as he was about to be fired was also satisfying. The way he punched down on the couch outside of the boardroom summarised what a complete and utter tosser he had been throughout the show. My only complaint is that this didn't happen weeks ago.
Other things that made his firing so delicious were the comments he made during the show that revealed his ridiculous but genuine belief that he was actually a strong candidate, and also his dislike for James and how sickened he must have been to be fired over him.
He got off lightly on You're Fired with a more sympathetic panel. There were too many green "Hired" cards held up at the end for my liking. And It annoyed me how he kept going on about how young he was. I've never liked Ben but one thing I could've said about him is that he never really used his age to excuse his many faults like Alex did last year - but no, he kept going on about how young he was. There are candidates more or less the same age as he is who weren't that bad.
The only reason Ben may have seemed more human and toned back in the later weeks was because he was brought down a peg or two by Debra when he was in the boardroom as PM. He was shown up as being a spineless cretin in that episode and ever since has only dared to criticise the candidates that he thought were weaker than him, like James.
Good riddance.
