Of course I am still tuning in every week, but I have to admit I find it completely missable TV.
Last night I was watching and at one point realised I was actually bored.

I don't know if it's the conestants, the editing or just that I'm getting tired of the format, but I am nowhere near as absorbed or gripped as I was in other years.

Maybe because I'm not rooting for anyone, I honestly couldn't give a toss who wins.

Aside from that, I found the last couple of episodes, well dull! Anyone else feel the same?

I was thinking the exact same thing myself. I remember when my mates and I would spend hours analysng it every which way, but this series something seems abit lacking (except Phil's firing which was a highlight!).

Ben has been abit subdued the past 4 weeks, so strangely his sacking didn't seem quite fair - and this is after weeks of detesting him. Siralan clearly says that both Nick and Margaret find Debra very unappealing - this was reinforced by James saying he wishes he could take her in twice - and yet she stays! Yet she's been obnoxious since day one. So what is the point of his advisers then? It's all getting rather ridiculous. I'd actually like to see a series with Duncan Bannatyne doing the hiring and firing to see how different it would be.

I feel the same, I'd even forgotten it was on last night whereas time was when I'd be impatiently looking forward to it from week to week. I guess the format has grown old (I think the producers might be thinking this also as there's going to be a junior apprentice next year, though I don't know much about that) so it's become a little bit tedious to watch and feels exactly like what Alan used to say it isn't - 'a game.'

I'm not hating though, I still watch it every week and most likely will continue to do so as it does have its 'flashes of brilliance.' I just wish I never read the thread on ds about Alan's introductions to the tasks as now whenever he says 'you may be wondering why your standing here today' I start laughing.

Yes he actually seems quite mean and without a sense of humour. Not great telly. Theo would actually be better.

Yep, the candidates are decidedly lacklustre and the firings too random this year. Why even bother with the tasks if you're just going to fire whoever each week? Might as well fast-forward to the interviews already.:yawn:

And whilst we're at it, YF and some of the panellists are also a waste of time.:sleep:

I think that's very unfair. The tasks are designed for candidates to show their business skills or lack of.

Someone the candidates firing should be solely based on the task, which is absurd, especially during the closing weeks. Candidates are allowed to make mistakes. If everyone got sacked for doing something wrong, we'd all be unemployed by now. You have to look at previous weeks otherwise just those under the radar would make it to the final.

The apprentice is still popular, so it's unlikely people are getting bored of it. I understand Some characters stay in over others for entertainment, and I think that's fine, it's still a tv show. but usually the dull ones that leave we see that they are out of their depth and wouldn't stand a chance of winning anyway, so it's no loss.

And You're fired, I find pretty funny. Some things found in there are typical tv burp humour, and can be funnier than the main show sometimes

Okay I take that back, it's just on Dragons Den he never seems to want to part with his cash. I still don't find him funny.

Thank God I'm not alone, I'm not going to switch off, I'm just a bit meh! about it this year.

It sort of seems like the contestants aren't trying as hard at the tasks this year, the standard in most of the tasks has been dreadful, hopefully next week will improve with the TV selling, which usually is comic gold.

We are sadly missing a Raef character, and our panto villain Deborah isn't even that entertaining, just unlikable.

Oh I don't know - I rather like Duncan Bannatyne. He is very gruff (but the same could be said of Sir Alan), but I think he's a good man. He certainly tries to do a lot of good with some of his wealth. But if any of the Dragons were going to do it, I'd like to see it with Peter Jones.

Duncan is my favourite Dragon, and I also think that when he's not on the show, he comes across as a genuinely nice guy. I don't think The Apprentice would be the best show for him though, which is why I would prefer Peter Jones.

I know you mean OP. I still watch it every week but if I'm beginning to lose interest. In fact for once I'm not even supporting someone. James is likeable but to be realistic I doubt he'll be hired. The rest - blah.

It's probably already been said on here, but this year, I feel like the producers have gone for extreme 'Big Brother' type contestants and are trying to make it entertaining this way. In other words we are meant to enjoy watching the contestants verbally bulldoze over each others' efforts, while being rude and abrasive in the process. Gets boring very quickly when most of them are like this.

For me, they have failed to realise that the reason it used to be entertaining was watching intelligent people excelling at a challenging task e.g. a la Ruth Badger leasing flats or Tre selling art. And the occasional dunderhead kept it amusing, but now there seems to be more weaker contestants than strong ones. And they're mostly all mouth and no trousers. I really enjoyed Kate's team coming up wth Treasure Flakes this year. The way they worked together to create a good workable idea in such a short time was very commendable.

Still watching it and would be prepared to give it another chance next year, but this is the worst year yet.

They are turning it into a personality programe rather then the tasks being the importent aspect

Once these programes turn into thesae perdonality shoes they loose their attraction except for a small minority.

Seem to have a lot of personality fans on herre. Nearly all the posts are about personality and not the task.

Interesting points you make and I agree. Only comment I would add is that perhaps we are being forced to talk about their personalities more than their achievements, because that's what's being shoved down our throats by the producers.

The task now takes up only 35 minutes of the hour long programme - I'm sure it used to be featured more prominently. The rest of the time is largely devoted to watching the children in the playground/boardroom as this is what they believe we find more entertaining.

I would agree. In fact, several times this year, I have thought that they might as well just call it Big Boardroom, and be done with it.

I think its looking a bit tired needs

1. Some new ideas on tasks.
2. Less silly squabbling in the boardroom..
3. Results of tasks should have a greater bearing on who is fired. Siralan marks somebody's card and when they appear in the boardroom that's when they are sacked whether they did well on the task or not..
