Are they having a laugh. A Sausage is a sausage ie: it's meat.

I don't get it.

Why do they want to create one without meat?
When following recipes that require sausages
Doing BBQs for none veggies .

However the main reason for buying them, is they are quick to make and readily available.

That said, you have a point.

I had veggie sausages for tea tonight. I'm not veggie but prefer to know what's in my sausage and don't want to eat pig anus, vagina, lips or brain.

My son, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind.

I love eating vagina and sometimes I could go for an anus too

I think most meat sausages use synthetic "skin".

I'll eat any part of an animal as long as it doesn't kill me and if that is ears, lips, arseholes then so be it. I eat brains too.

But a sausage is meat by defenition. Why shape veggie stuff into the shape of a sausage? It's a contradiction in terms.

Make the garbage into a hexagon and call it a sixer??

Some of the veggie sausages are vile - and I say that as a veggie myself!

Glamorgan sausages are the best - a mixture of breadcrumbs, cheese, shredded leeks [or spinach, or spring onions, if you can't get leeks] mixed with a beaten egg and made into sausage shapes, then gently pan fried until crispy and golden on the outside, and gooey and melted on the inside.

Just gorgeous.

Have you ever tried finding hexagonal bread???

And if you're gonna be that pedantic about it, calling a hexagonal "whatever" a "sixer" would be inaccurate, as it would actually have eight sides- two hexagonal and six straight.

Why does the word 'sausage' implicate meat?

There's meat and there's meat. My granddad was a butcher but he wouldn't eat sausages - it's not the 'lean' stuff that goes into sausages.

Any part of a cow is called beef so '100% pure beef sausages' doesn't mean that there's 100% meat as in the lean stuff we'd happily eat in them - it's more like the parts that are left after the best meat is taken for sale that is ground to a pulp (the skin, bones, and such like) that is used but which can still legitimately be called 'beef'.

Same with pork and other meats.

I'm a meat eater but I prefer veggie sausages and burgers.

All good and well, but sometimes you actually have to feed your guests.

Give them a sausage I say!
