Thanks lol.

I always thought singers such as The Saturdays and even Girls Aloud where 'average'...(even though i like them)..but it's true though isn't it?

Still, i'm looking forward to seeing Susan win on Saturday

He said the whole world were watching you, and you obviously were too in order to be able to make your comment so actually you are counted in. Sorry.

She was obviously in a hurry to get back to Blackburn. She barely gave the backing track a chance to catch up!

She was always going to get to the final, given the hype over the last few weeks but needs to do better than that if she's going to win.

In a world of miming and lip syncing, it is refreshing charming and very endearing to see a woman with learning difficulties get up and sing before millions of people in her very first live performance, what an achievement a fantastic performance, Susans vulnerability just makes people love her even more.

Susan Boyle is an inspiration to us all, unlike the mean spirited people hiding behind silly names on message boards with their nasty comments about a truly lovely lady, well done Susan you and your familly can be very proud of your performance last night.

She's quite good AJ but she isn't inspiring me to do anything. I think the over egging of the pudding turns people off.

Not that you mind, mind

I think she sung the song very well and it was one of my favourite all time songs and it is so nice to see someone like Susan go out there and sing her best but I am not sure if she will win but good luck to her, she deserves it.

Knowing all the hype that has been created by her audition, & the fact that millions of people around the world were watching her performance, I was terrified for her.

My fingers were firmly crossed & I willed her to be good - when she made the bum note at the start I thought "Oh no" - but she pulled herself together & proceeded to give a good (not brilliant) performance!

I had tears in my eyes & even though I have watched the youtube version a number of times it has still brought tears to my eyes. Is she good? - Definitely! - Will she win? - Could do, it will all depend on whether she pulls it out of the bag on Saturday.

I'm putting her performance last night & the few bum notes down to nerves, even though she said she wasn't under pressure!

Is this right, SB has learning difficulties?

Can't you tell? Oxygen starvation at birth apparently. She's very odd and average. However, OP is infatuated with her it seems.

Susan Boyle has a digitalspy account If only I knew.

Yes, she can sing. Yes, she's done well to get up on stage and sing. But she is an average singer, at the end of the day. She can sing, she sings well, but not outstandingly better than most singers you'll find trying to break into the business these days. "Memory" just isn't her song - as I said in the other thread, it's meant for a mezzo belter with a big range, something Susan just isn't. She is an alto, and although she can belt, she will struggle to find songs suitable because of her darker timbre. "I Dreamed A Dream" was perfect for her, I think she'll probably sing it in the final, although I would recommend a song like "Tell Me It's Not True" from Blood Brothers.

It must be nerve racking to step out onto a large stage and just sing. When one takes this into consideration one might begin to understand the nerves that were obviously there at the beginning of her song. You could see her placing her hand on herself, her rib cage, to steady herself. Susan sang that song last night with such feeling and she has a wonderful voice. Her voice has a resonance which adds to the overall performance.

I tell you what, why don't you say that again. And again, and again, and again, and again.

And then again for good measure.

And then maybe again.

And then chime in to anyone who types "yOo are Rite Soosan iS grAtE" that they are wonderful, intelligent, compassionate human beings while decrying anyone who knows a little about the subject, listens to the evidence of their own ears and points out civilly that she seems to be at best a good but erratic amateur as mean-spirited.

It really makes you come over well.

She's not being judged on her personality, though, she's being judged (quite rightly) on her talent - and, unfortunately, she's not delivering on that score! Her performance last night was pretty average - and is certainly not the performance of a winner! Unfortunately, the judges are refusing to be honest with her, and that is detramental to her! She deserves some honesty (Simon et al had no trouble being honest with the other acts!), otherwise how can she a) know where she went wrong and b) make improvements?

Blind worship is as bad for her as cruel and nasty criticism!

I hear what you're saying about nerves Mita, she was obviously really nervous and I don't blame her. The start was poor but she got it together. However Simon and Co. should have been more honest as she certainly wasn't brilliant last night, IMO.
When I sang I placed my hand on my stomach too or thereabouts.
How are you BTW?

Thats ok scotch, it was so lovely to hear dear Susans voice again, I can't wait until Saturday to hear her delightful singing all over again, she has such a rare and special quality to her voice, and her vunerability is very endearing, I feel honoured and privaliged to her Susan sing again, and we all wish her every success in everything that she does, she is a lovely talented and caring lady.

I completely agree. This should be about her voice. And last night her voice was not that good!

Best post of the day without a shadow of a doubt. I am sick to the back teeth of the "Susan Police"; their self congratulatory love in, their patting themselves on the back for being such wonderful human beings for believing in the poor woman with the learning disabilities who was starved of oxygen at birth blah blah blah... How anyone who challenges their vision of "St. Susan "ought to be ashamed of themselves..."
Well sorry, I still think she's overrated.
