Just had to call CS and I hung up as soon as I realised the agent was in Manilla. I called again and the same thing, I had to hang up.

Are any of Tmobile's UK callcentres open today?

Why not just speak to them?

I have zero confidence in offshore callcentres especially those in countries where I know nothing of how seriously they take DPA issues. On a less serious level I can't stand their fake american accents.

Well, their greenock call center was alive and well when I phoned them on Friday.

The lady I spoke to said that she would phone me back on Tuesday regarding my enquiry, because they were all off today with it being a holiday monday. I think from what I've heard elsewhere that the full switchover to foreign callcentres isn't due to take place until around August, which is a real shame, as their uk customer service (at least in my experience as a small business customer) is excellent, and the best I've had from a mobile phone company.

... and Orange have call centres in Bristol, Plymouth, North Tyneside and Darlington????

We'll be mainly UK-only by the end of the year.

Personally, I haven't had much luck with my dealings with Orange's uk customer services, but it's still infinitely better than having foreign callcentres. I think T-Mobile are making a huge mistake outsourcing, they really should learn from other companies that have withdrawn from India and the likes, and keep their uk based staff.

Obviously it's a cost cutting exercise, and I shudder to think what their service levels will be like in the coming year. They're obviously more interested in their shareholders than their customers. Still, we'll see soon enough.

You are!

They're closing down the outsourced UK based centres (operated by TSC).

Their inhouse contact centres based in Greenock, Doxford and Merythyr are all fully functional
