Just came across the video for "Lucky" on YouTube which I haven't seen for a good few years. It's a good pop song and very underrated. She never performs it on her tours, but I suppose that's because it's become a bit cheesy now! I'd never paid much attention to the song before, but listening to the lyrics, it was obviously a bit of a cry for help.

I love that song and video. Really poignant in hindsight.

I loved that song when it first came out. I've just been thinking the same lately - maybe it was a cry for help because I think her problems have gone a long way back, maybe into her childhood.

A cry for help for all those good looking, rich, famous people who suffer so much in the society we live in.

When will they get a fair deal?

I doubt it was a cry for help as she probably didnt even write the song.....

i dont think it was a cry for help as she did not write it, she would not have been singing that song from her point of view. however, i can see why people would think that this song was a cry for help. This could make more sense if it was a recent song, given everything that has gone on in the last few years.

I'm not sure it counts as a cry if you mime it....

I would have thought EveryTime was more of a cry for help than Lucky.

Especially considering she killed herself in the video.

I don't think britney wrote lucky, plus I think she was most likely loving the attention and fame and fortune by this stage. Only since meeting kev and making mistakes so publicly I think she's realized " Im so lucky I'm a star but I cry cry cry.... "

Thank god she's been able to see her kids ALOT more. They are her world and you can see she loves them more than anything.
Britneys doing so well recently. I just hope she stays happy. She deserves it!

Hasn't Britney been trying to tell people all along though, that she's unhappy with the fame game. Some fail to realise a person can have it all so to speak, but feel entirely alone. I mean does she have any decent friends who don't just want to know her for her status?

You only have to look at other videos like 'Overprotected', at the begining as she runs from the paps.

She wasn't unhappy at the begining, on Britney For the record she said she enjoyed being famous but she didn't realize how famous she was untill 6 years into her career, it's only when she met K-Fed she changed and after divorcing him went of the rails.

But Now she is Back to her best.

Thought after listening to Lucky on you tube, I have to admit its kind of decent.

when Britney appeared as guest in an episode of "Sabrina" in part of the conversation Sabrina said to Britney something along the lines of "you always have people around you - your famous" and Britney replies "sometimes that's the loneliest place to be".

All of the above cetainly rings true!

I really doubt she wrote it or directed the video, she didn't have much artistic input really. So I don't think it was a cry for help from her.
