Homebrew help wanted
New to the forum and my first post and first brew, i received a homebrew kit from my wife for Christmas ( it must be love ) just got around to giving it a go, i have followed the instructions for the Woodfordes Wherry to the letter, however it took a little longer to ferment than stated but thanks to a hot weekend and 10 days instead of the recommended 4-6 i have a steady 1012 so i think im ready to keg up, the problem is the sugar amount stated is a bit sketchy, what would you recommend in grams for the keg in this 3Kg kit .

Been a while since I did home brewing but I seem to remember it's how strong you want your ale to be. The more sugar the stronger the alcohol content. I'd go by what they say and then add a bit more a week or so later.
Also you can buy an electric "belt" to fir around the demijohn or bucket which will keep the mash at a steady temperature. Hope that's of some help. |
