OK, a straight question : what musical talent or skill is Britney Spears displaying at the O2?
If you're asking that, then you're never going to be satisfied with the answer. The attraction of Britney's performances is either something you're fascinated with, or don't understand. I'm sure you wouldn't be satisfied with the 'just because' answer. It's hard to explain, but there's just something about her that some people get, and other's don't. We all know Britney isn't going to sing live or play any instruments ... and none of the 160,000 people who've bought tickets for her o2 shows care. We're not going to see her prove herself as a vocalist, and frankly I'm not interested in that side of Britney.

You'd be better closing the thread as a Britney Spears concert has got **** all to do with music.

I went last night, visually it is one of the best concerts I have been to.

The dancers are very good and the circus performers are breathtaking in some of the things they do.

The build up to Britney coming on is huge.

Highlights for me were Get Naked, Toxic, Womanizer, Me Against the Music, Baby One More Time and Everytime.

Most of the songs performed are remixes, and they all get the crowd going! She may not have done them all live, but she was very energetic and I thought she was great.

Ciara's performance was very good too, she is a very good singer, highlights were 1-2 Step and Work.

This isn't an attack on Britney as I would say the same for any artist but she should be proving herself as a vocalist as without stating the obvious, she's a singer. If she just wanted to dancing around on the stage opening her mouth in and out like a fish then she should change professions and become a backing dance to someone who does have a talent in singing.

I think regardless of who the artist is, if I was paying X money for a singer at a concert, I would be peeved off if I knew the mimed throughout. This isn't like a teeny bopper band.

Went on opening night and my god it was amazing.

Electric atmosphere, people were in floods of tears as she descended (Which I thought was a bit much really) and the whole show from Ciara, through the circus through to Britney was just perfection.

Perez Hilton was a brilliant choice, the set was amazing, the dancing almost as good as she was in her prime and the whole show was just amazing amazing amazing.

I really want to go again, and Ciara was out of this world. We heard people complaining that she was meant to be a great dancer but she didn't do any dancing which seemed strange considering she is an amazing dancer and probably one of the best at her level, her show was amazing too.

Absolutely great night and the fact she mimed the majority didn't bother me, I'd rather witness it mimed and sounding good with the whole stage show, than either a breatheless awful vocal, or a decent vocal with no movement.

Britney got it right completely, and I love how trashy her outfits were, one review called them all just a Variation of pants which was so true, she was so trashy but in a way only Britney could really pull off.

She should not be on the stage if she mimes 95% of the time.

This sort of event is not a concert.

The visuals and other guff on stage are merely to distract the sad punter whose actually paid money to watch someone who can't cut it as a live performer.

Time these events were made illegal.
No doubt Jacko will be next.
Wrong wrong and Wrong.

They weren't a distraction, they were part of the show.
Noone left the show sad, everyone with a braincell expected her to mime, it was the show and the fact it was Britney that people were paying for.
She can cut it as a live performer, she show proved that, live vocalist? Perhaps not but she can hold a tune pretty well without dancing, just not both at once, but live performer, she's definitely able to hold her own.

Because i'm so tired of all the slating going on. If you don't like the fact she mimed most songs then yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but why bother coming on this thread to tell everyone? Why even come on this thread at all if you only have bad things to say?

I'm sick of the people slagging her mimeing off, WE the fans don't care about vocals and if you do don't see britney!! She been doing it for the past 10years.

I'm going cause I know her shows amazing they always have been, the reason why some if papers are slating it is cause the reviewers are not fans there just there cause there told too, take that guy in the showbiz bit in the sun, always slating her where as The woman in Daily star and daily mail lived the show, cause they are fans, non-fans will always slate her mimeing.

I can not wait to just be in Britneys presense!
