Couldn't believe the judges stayed in their seats at the end after some of the dross they have given standing ovations to!

She was fab, the true talent of last year's show (and I didn't even want her to win!)

I take it she must have appeared in the last half hour of the show? I didn't bother watching the last half hour. But yes, Faryl's a true talent, and was very disappointed when she didn't take the winner's position last year. She so deserved it.

I have to say her singing on Annie's Song is beautiful.
Lovely voice
The arrangement is identical to John Denver's original - I'm not sure but isn't the song said to be based on Tchaikovsky - 1st Symphony, 2nd Movement (or something like that)?

She was good last night, bit dull, very sweet.

But remember that she has had a year of polishing, performing, coaching, training etc etc to get her to the performance that she gave last night so I wouldn't have expected her to be anything other than good.

I must admit, I turned over when she was on!

She's very, very...ordinary.

No stage presence, no personality, no skills other than singing displayed so far...she's still only a child so maybe time will bring development, but I fear not.

Perhaps if she was casting a clay pot as she sang you would be more impressed?

I'd just settle for some expression and not singing every note the same!

I can't pretend to know much about singing, but she's still only a kid. Maybe when she's older and more confident the stage presence and all that will come.

What a ridiculous statement to make. Singing is what singers do, you daft bugger. Those who can't sing appear half naked, gyrating with a microphone stuffed in their chops. Squawking in some language that doesn't include consonants. Classical singers just sing; why? Because they can. They don't need the gimmicks. Only the musically illiterate like you need them. "She's very, very ordinary"? I suggest you get a reasonable musical education before you comment on the musical talent of others.

Yes, she will learn it as she continues to study, but I don't mean stage presence. She has a very, very sound technical foundation anyway, which is a lot harder to achieve.

They do - in fact it is quite rare for a singer to move around unless they're actually singing opera, when they are required to act as well as sing (unless you're Natalie Dessay). A lot of singers are trained to sing when not moving.

And I've never sung with a mic unless it's broadcasting or a recording, I've never held one and I wouldn't do it really, because I hate it... On something like BGT when you're doing it infront of a non-silent audience with a backing track you can't really not... but with live musicians you do meter to each other without needing electronic gadgetry.

I had to try and sing with a mic when I sang in a recent talent show and didn't really like it. It was only the 2nd time I used that thing and wasn't used to it AT ALL.

The only times I have sang I have needed a microphone in my hand. Apparently a karaoke machine won't work without one.
