William Hill

4/7

Isn't this a dead cert?

Flawless are priced higher than Diversity?

Diversity are clearly better and more inventive

I was going to put £50 on Man Utd but Susan Boyle will win BGT...

I'm Surprized Bookmakers even have a book on this its that clear who will win...

ITV and Simon Cowell will make sure for certain Boyle wins

Itv's history with rigged phone votes is proof of this.....

If Susan Boyle is annouced the winner on Saturday, i'm going to switch my tv off instantly. I honestly can't stand the women's singing and overall attitude, makes me puke!

In that case, I hope she does win.

I think Boyle will win too, she has to. Simon will sign her, whatever .. and there's so many offers for her in America. It will damage her to be seen as a "loser". I think they deliberately put a lot of doubt in peoples minds and didn't give her a great semi final production number because they probably have a "massive comeback" planned for the finale.

Saying that .. she really isn't THAT good, but it doesn't really matter does it. It's all about the publicity and image.

Absolutely no need to rig anything. Did you notice at the end of the auditions that there was no unanimous "Boyle to win" from the judges? That's because they had NO IDEA how huge she would be!
The Boyle phenomenon happened independently of Cowell &co. and they couldn't stop her winning now even if they wanted!

Not really true .. most of her support seems to be in the USA - and there is definitely a UK backslash and we are the ones voting. She did get the public vote at the semis but that was before the backlash, i think if they want her to win they will be doing a lot of convincing the public!

76% of the vote on Sunday. Even if that drops by half, she'll still probably win.
TBH the "backlash" seems to be mainly on forums like this. The GBP seem as taken with her as ever.

I agree with you she will probably win, possibly with a similar percentage depending on how they "stage" it (ie - if she has another amazing song up her sleeve, and the judges build her up right, give her great intro video blah blah) though i think maybe the level of public voting was probably more to do with the publicity around her rather than how she sang. Whether that continues or not we shall see, i do think there is a genuine realisation amongst the public that she wasn't as good, but it is always stronger on the forums.

I think possibly the Got Talent people deliberately played down Boyle for the semi (she even had barely any make-up, not the greatest dress) so they could get more publicity, attention and votes for her in the finale, but then again you do get the sense they kinda would like someone else to win but maybe thats just what they want us to think so it doesn't seem a foregone conclusion.

As much as I like Susan and think she's a sweet woman, I'd rather see Diversity win this. Susan's going to be successful whatever the outcome.

I think her percentage could be higher than that on Saturday, given that she'll more than likely sing I Dreamed A Dream.

As you say,the "backlash" against her is mainly from a group of very vocal begrudgers posting on internet forums like this one.The same people would probably have slated her though even if she had sung really well in the semi.

Most people I've spoken to acknowledged that she was nervous and below her best on Sunday, but they still like her and there is none of the vitriol from them that you read here.

Where did this figure come from? Didn't think they had been released?

I dont think Simon is so keen after the second performance. She would be very difficult to market & she would last a few months at most.

I think she would have great diffculties with TV & readio apperances and with the tour

Having Farell sing last night shows just how big a difference there is.

To be honest the figure on Wikipedia seem more likely.

I spoke to my elderly father last night on the telephone. He doesn't watch the show at all but proceeded to ask me what I thought about this phenomenal Scots woman singer. He had seen her on the News and being talked about on current affairs programmes.
My point being maybe Susan Boyle has people betting on her who do not watch the show.

I've read that she has learning difficulties, which is highly likely the reason behind the 'overall attitude'.

IMO, she is doing well considering and I hope people will be more understanding of the difficulities she has faced/still facing.

IF I was going to bet, it wouldn't be on Susan now. I think Hollie far surpasses Susan - especially compared to the performance she gave this time. I felt a bit deflated by her recent performance. It's as though she was much more nervous because she couldn't keep quite a few of the notes as long as she should of, whereas in her first audition, she could.

Wouldn't she want to be treated the same as any other act, rather than get the pity vote? That's what people with disabilities often say. In which case I'd rate her as good karaoke, no more.

I don't think she's going for the pity vote. Well, I personally haven't seen anything to make me think she is.

No, I don't think she's trying for it - but I think that's what is happening. I don't dislike her, but I don't think her voice is anything special. IMO if she was ordinary looking and didn't have LD, she'd not have made it to the finals.

(The quoting thingy on here has gone all bonkers!)
