OK. Just watched the show. Nit Kate's best task, but I'm not sure how anybody can conclude that she should have gone over Lorraine. Why exactly. And I'm not talking looks or underdog; I'm talking business.
Lorraine - She almost got 1 product right and didn't push it through and got one product terribly wrong. Poor at presenting and got the pitch wrong. Caused conflic.
Kate - Got the products right, but pitched poorly. Was a tad b*tchy.
Not Kate's greatest task; but she got the products right. She chose, with good presenters, two of the high selling items. Therefore, her product selection was spot on.
I'm not going to give a big excuse for the selling. She didn't do well in the cat handicraft one. But seriously that had to be the worst item. I won't excuse her entirely as a good salesperson can sell anything. But se had an almost unsellable item even before presenting. And we did see a marked improvement in the ir guitar, I liked her presentatin there and clearly the local staff did too. Seemed to me that the poor sell was on the handicrafts which was suggested by SAS to not be a big seller and the worst selection choice.
Kates products didn't sell. Clearly they do sell as per SAS so choice cannot be given. It has to be the sales pitch which was not greater, especially the fryer.
As for the dispute; I can see whee Kate was coming from and I think an element was her feeling Lorraine was digging and the PM comment did come across childish from Lorraine. I'm not surprised though. Given that nothing was seemingly resolved from weeks ago and Phillip indicated Kate still to this day is upset about the "relationship card", But I have heard worse from every single candidate in that room to someone at some point, including Howard who just hasn't said it toher face. Kate's reaction was not unique.
At the end of the day; SAS's blog was about products not presenters. Kate, by his admission, picked what should have been the best sold items. Therfore, she was never going to go.
Debra proved herself again to be a great sales person. Always has been. But isn't she the one trick pony? What has Debra achieved apart from sales. I think and always have done that she is one of the best sellers. But she shows poor leadership skills and mucked up on the marketing task.
Kate, for me, proved she wasn't a one trick pony. If she was; tonight would have been about her presenting well. She chose the right products; a task she hasn't been heavily involved in other weeks and she took the riskier approach. She also went out of her comfort zone in that guitar and that one came across mych better.
