Yep the info will start coming out this Monday. Footage from the Media Day that took place last week, which means we'll see what the house looks like this year. We'll probably get an idea of this years twist. And maybe cast profiles, but not quite sure about that yet.

Can somebody summarise why they think BB USA is better than the UK version? I've never seen it, so I'd be interested to hear people's views.

If anybody is interested in watching live US TV on their PC or TV, PM me. Or even just getting a US IP address to view the website content, I assume it's restricted to the US/Canada?

Interesting to see highlights will only be shown 3 nights a week in the US and Canada on CBS and Global respectively. A sign of things to come for the UK perhaps?

BBUSA has always been 3 highlight shows a week apart from the very first season which had a different format.

BBUSA isn't produced and narrated in the same style to BBUK where everything is in real time. The highlight shows combine footage from the past two or three days and they don't always show them in chronological order. Neither do they have an annoying narrator every few seconds saying "The housemates are in the living room".

The way BBUSA is produced, with the quick cuts and incidental music can be off-putting at first, but it is the format that keeps you hooked.

The reason I'd say it is better than BBUK is because BBUSA has more of a purpose and a structure. It is treated for what it is, a gameshow with a prize fund at the end. The housemates all play the game and admit to it, they can discuss nominations because it is up to them to nominate each other and vote each other out. This means that alliances are formed and broken, people backstab, switch allegiances, bitch, argue and the rest. But they also have fun and laughter just like every other BB.

The challenges are also far superior to BBUK's. They are well thought-out and actually take some skill in completeing.

Overall it is just a far more enjoyable series.

BBUSA is a lot more honest than BBUK, (despite all the lying, backstabbing and all around treachery ) the housemates all want to win the cash and they all know it.

Also, CBS spends a great deal more money on the show in general which adds a lot to the viewing experience.

BBUSA all the way for me

Insider CornerOffice on Reality BBQ (a very reliable insider) has said this:

"The 12 House Guests who haven't been in the house before will be sequestered on Sunday."

Who haven't been in before? Does that mean we will be getting ex-housemates as well?

A bit soon after All-Stars I think for that...

But why not just say "The 12 houseguests will be sequestered on Sunday".

Why say "The 12 houseguests who haven't been in the house before..."?

That suggests there will be also houseguests who have been in the house before no?

The season kicks off July 9th at 8pm on CBS. The housemates will move in to the house on Sunday 5th July.

The cast details are supposedly going to be released tomorrow.

I'm still confused, can someone explain to me the point of media day or what ever it's called when a bunch of people go in before the actual show and stay there for a while?

Media Day could be considered a dry-run of sorts.

Basicaly 12 people from the media - journalists, presenters, blog-writers etc, all people that cover Big Brother are put in the house for 12 hours. They get to live a small scale version of the BB life; play HoH comp, Nominations, PoV Comp, Eviction.

Then they report on it when they get out. It's just extra promotion for the show and also a way to make sure that the house is running correctly.

With the 14 portrait slots on the ol' memory wall, you might be onto something.

I'm choosing to believe that Janelle will be fully haunting the house this summer instead of her usual random crowd shot cameos during live shows.

I think that vague comment may have been blown our of proportion actually.

They had 14 slots on the memory wall last year, but only 13 housemates. The 14th was just covered with the BB logo.

Janelle is doing a live BB chat with Evel Dick (ugh) this year on Real Player. So she won't be appearing in the house, thank god, seen enough of Janelle now.

Remember when too much Janelle was a good thing? Seems like so long ago...

I have few words for this new live chat show. Well, two words - technical difficulties.

Why are you on this forum? It is for BBUSA, you don't have to watch.

While I respectfully laugh at your disdain of us "fat lazy Americans" and our tripe tv shows, I can reveal that this particular show will not be on your telly to further raise your ire. Ta!

I think Kathy (41) from Ohio will be annoying going off of no more information other than she's from Ohio.
