I didn't get that either.

If he'd criticised them for focusing on the chips as opposed to the chip fryer, I'd understand.

But he kept harping on about the phone number which is up on the screen anyway. They weren't pushing it in the control room either.

I thought Sir Alan looked like a mad old uncle shouting at the TV screen in that room all by himself.

Argh.....okay, forgot about that

I honestly don't recall that. Are you sure it wasn't said as a joke?

No, she has complimented Kates selling ability and the way she expresses herself.

No!

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. See you next week

Kate said "I can't believe she didn't check exclusivity!". Then Howard said "at least we've got an excuse now for the Boardroom" and then the scene ended.

There was no collusion.

Yes and she told her she was a great salesperson last week.

It's active selling. Sometimes if you give people a nudge to buy, it makes a difference.

Well which is the truth?

Lorraine slates Kate's looks and says things behind her back that she will win people over only on those assets etc etc? I.e. she hasn't really got a brain and can only win folk over on her looks.

Or

To her face......'you were good Kate, well done'

Which personna is the real Lorraine here?

I'm quite sure that Kate is astute enough to see that anything that Lorraine says to her is merely paying lip service and far from being sincere. And we the audience have the proof of it.

I also think that Kate is revealing a rather dangerous 'superiority complex' that she tends to not give her all so much when she is working with candidates that she perceives to be inferior to her - we saw this when she slacked off on the Manchester/Liverpool task when she was convinced that Lorraine would be fired regardless so she together with Phillip and Ben decided to slack off.

I thought that she was inclined to do the same last night - now that there are so few candidates you can no longer fly under the radar. Although the craft kit was not to her taste I thought that the end of her product pitch was pretty poor - making the cat and dog kiss - taking the p*ss out of the products you are selling is not a good option and is unprofessional.

I was actually surprised how bad and wooden her pitches were - which made me question whether she is as good a candidate as I thought.

Bottom line - I think the compliments of recent weeks have led her to assume that she is guaranteed a final place so she coasted a little this week - always a dangerous strategy in the Apprentice....

I think Alan Sugar really wants Kate in the final. He gets dissappointed with her but she never gets comments as harsh as the others.
She is quite good at selling in some of the tasks but she comes across as quite stand-offish towards the other women.

I'd love to see Yasmina and James in the final, but I think it'll be kate and Yasmina.”

I agree. I could never understand why people were raving about her. I would also love it to be a James and Yasmina final, but I doubt it will be.

I'd like yasmina to win, but I fear Debra will. Suralan likes the gobby upstarts - reminds him of his yoof.

Kate is unable to take any sort of critisism. I agree that she probably has had people always praising her in th epast and now when she gets negative comments she doesn't know how to respond. When Loraine said that Howard was the better presenter she showed her true colours.

The problem, is she thinks she is far better that she is.

I know that its probably down to the editing but I just thought there was something off about the way she reacted to the fact that Lorraine was gushing over how good Howard was and how the camera loved him.... and didn't praise her in the same way.

She seemed to take umbrage at the way Lorraine lumped the two of them together as also rans... and made some comment like "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything". Lorraine wasn't being nasty to her just saying that both the girls weren't as good as Howard.....

I'm not being funny but I honestly don't recall Lorraine slating Lorraine looks and saying that she would only win because of them. I do recall her saying that Philip was distracted by kate on the auction task, but she was right - Philip admitted that himself on YF. I think Lorraine is perhaps slightly envious of Kate's looks.

I agree with both of these posts. Kate is good - but she's not great. And she really doesn't react well to criticism. I was surprised that she was so upset about Lorraine's praising of Howard. Lorraine was actually completely correct there.

She implies those assets will win people over <which is true> but I dont think she means she hasnt got a brain etc as well.

Thats sucks, just because shes pretty and clever, you cant say it's her looks rather than her ability. Her looks prob give her extra confidence but essentially its her brains that get her places!

In everything except looks, Kate is utterly average. I am constantly amazed at how many people believe she is a superior candidate. In particular the idea that she has constantly outperformed others is laughable. This is not her first dud week. She sold nothing on the selling task, screwed up the food pitch and is patently hostile to other women competitors/co-workers. She is also curiously out of date, from the way she presents herself to her choice of those dreadful jackets. Unfortunately, Sir Alan seems as infatuated as some of the posters. The chip pan, however, was a good choice but they were stuck with a tea time slot to sell when the target market was elsewhere. IMO it was the time slot not their selling which stymied their sales.

Kate was quite happy to take the piss when Lorraine was wearing the jacket though. She comes across as being incredibly insecure, hence the 27 layers of make-up.

My opinion of her slumped after she did sod all work on that Margate task a few weeks back, and got away with it.

I also don't know why everyone goes on and on about her looks. She the best of a bad bunch IMO. In any other context she'd hardly be noticed. And again, she wears such an incredible amount of make-up it's difficult to know what she really looks like. In all honesty, I think she'd be better suited to working in the cosmetics section of House of Fraser.

Well, you can say it's her looks rather than her ability, but that doesn't necessarily make it true! However, in Kate's case I think her ability is over-rated, and I think her looks do help. It's not fair, but it's the way of the world. I've said it before - she's good, but she isn't great. (I don't actually think she's all that attractive either, but she would probably look better without all that slap on).

I agree with every word!! In the Margate task, Kate did a good pitch, but that's what she does in her normal job, so it wasn't a stretch for her (conversely, in the food task her pitch was dreadful). But apart from the pitch, I didn't see her doing anything in the Margate task.

Other than doing well as PM on the cereal task (and with pants man as opposition anyone could have led her team to victory) I cant think of anything of note she has done. If Philip had dined out on the former success of the body rocker then Kate has for some reason coasted through with only one memorably good performance. How many other times has she PM'd as I don't recall her putting herself in the firing line too many times.

Her attitude last night when Lorraine was praising Howard's presentation skills was incredibly bitchy and immature. She couldn't bear anyone getting praise and turned it round to being about her. Hope she goes in the interview week. As much as I am not a fan of Debra, she sold well, and leads well.
