Fun Board - What have you learned from the message board re: DWTS and SCD?
This was a funny subject posted on another board. I thought I would copy. I am not sure how much applies to SCD and the Digital Spy or BBC boards but it certainly describes the US boards with regards to DWTS. I thought we could have a little fun with it.
Here goes: (Copied from USABC board). Although I have been watching DWTS since season one, this is the first year I have looked at the message board and I only came on to find out why Ty saluted. I found the board to be pretty entertaining and kept coming back; now that the season is over I've found I have learned a few things. 1. Athletes should not be allowed to compete because they are in too good of shape and have too much of a competitive spirit that makes them determined to do what it takes to be the best they can be at whatever they do. 2. Anyone with even a little dance or choreograph experience should not be allowed to compete because this background gives them an unfair advantage and they are known as a ringer. 3. The show is rigged, the producers decide who is going to win. 4. The voting system is wrong and there a a thousand ways to fix it. 5. After watching for eight season I am such a slow learner that I still know nothing about how a dance should be performed, a person has to be a ballroom expert to comment on technique. 6. If I do know something about ballroom dancing I should be watching PBS not DWTS. 7. All the judges should be replaced. 8. None of the judges should be replaced. 9. If I use IMO people don't like because everybody knows it is JMO. 10. If I don't use IMO people ask where my facts are or if I am an expert. 11. I should only vote for the best dancer, not my favorite. 12. I should vote for my favorite, because that is what the hosts ask me to do. 13. If the best dancer or my favorite - depending on how I vote - doesn't win the world has come to an end. 14. The producers are going to be very upset because I am never watching this show again. All and all the message board has been fun. I mostly kept to the Ty Murray threads and I found most of the people there to be very nice, some with a very quick and very wicked sense of humor. So, what have you learned? Best reply of the day IMO which is JMO (Lili27). I have also learned that many here suffer from a serious disease called, Lastworditus. ![]() I enjoyed your post and I am awarding it most creative and enjoyable post of the day. What have you learned from the MB? |

Here is a take on DWTS written by Joan Acocella the dance critic for the New Yorker magazine. It was written during season 6 but still applies. Intriguing essay.

(Finally stopped sulking about the final
![]() )Two great summaries about the shows that just about say it all! I especially love 9. If I use IMO people don't like because everybody knows it is JMO. ![]() but my favourite also has to be I have also learned that many here suffer from a serious disease called, Lastworditus. I think some people on the SCD board (not the DWTS board) have an incurable type of that particular disease!

The whole thing's great but I especially like 10 and 11 about voting for the best dancer/your favourite.
