Did she shout "**** off" in response to Piers' praise of Shaneen? Because surely most sane people did.

Cowell and co are probably the ones creating and leaking these stories ...and making sure they get mainstream press attention.

What better way to ensure more viewers, more votes and more hype than to bring down the certain favourite to make it look like a contest again instead of a foregone conclusion.

Cowell and co created the worldwide hype for Su-Bo...now they are probably manipulating the backlash. The press collude with it...and the public fall for it.

I'm sure they are....but that's not to say she wasn't set-up...or the press were not leaked a specific version of events.

Seems pretty suspect that we have 3 days of very negative Su-Bo stories just before the final.

I do wish i could say goodnight to people on here sometimes.

We've seen all this before. We get the hype and then the downfall.

However, what I really dislike about the press, is that they go beyond the pale when they lay into someone who hasn't the nous to take them on. And in fact, in this case, it seems to me like clear antagonism and goading a reaction.

That's bang out of order and below the belt IMO.

I expected better but when I heard him speak I understood the issue... vocal fatigue (for whatever reason).

I am basing my views on what I have actually seen. This stupid wiggling she does is NOT good for her image.

If she said some of these things, why isn't there an advisor to make sure she can control herself? (Not saying they're true). But she may not be fully in control or able to understand her actions. I can understand the "I'm from Barcelona" impression, now to some that may not be funny, but I think Susan was trying to be funny to compensate for her own insecurity/whatever. As someone with mild Aspergers traits, I can perhaps identify with Susan not being fully aware of social nuances.

I think she was trying to compensate for her nerves by attempting to be funny, a lot of people do it with varying success. Here is what Piers has to say about it, apparently Susan is finding it very difficult to cope with the pressure and now the negativity and has even considered quitting:

Quite astonishing .. I totally agree but wouldn't have PM stick up for her like that.

I don't agree she should be kicked off the competition just because of a supposed rant, and she is splitting opinion due to the fact she appears to be the odds on favourite of the show, i personally do not rate her or see the outstanding clamour about her, but then that is my personal opinion and does not make me right or wrong about her.

I hope she does well and enjoys her experience on the final, however the only thing i have an issue with - and this goes for all contestants really - is the manipulation of the contestants for column inches.

Take for example Susan Boyle's appearance on the semi final, you can not tell me that the image of the light around her head as if a halo was unexepcted, her singing began terribly (probably nerves), but in her defence finished quite well. I still cannot shake the niggling feeling that if she had done an ali-g style rap she would have still have won due to the manipulation of the media, which to me undermines for me the actual real talent in the show. If she was an attactive blond or dark haired lad she would be looked upon the same as the postman and would not have got anywhere near the semi finals.... however it seems these shows quite obviosuly now are actively on the lookout for the poster girl/boy to hang the show on and this year it has been her.

I do not agree with the nastiness now creeping up against her, but then again i see the adulation she is been lavished with just as creepy.

How can anyone be saying she had a 'rant', when no one knows what was said to her in the first place? I read somewhere it was a reporter that set her off, so where is the report of what he said, not just what she said?

Sounds to me like its a case of someone baiting her to try and set her off more than anything else, and she has the guts and the balls to defend herself.

Enough to melt the coldest of hearts but not mine i'm afraid. To me it's yet another attempt to make sure this 2nd rate singer wins the show. Nobody is forcing this woman to take part in the competition afterall.

I find it nauseating that Piers criticises the press,an organisation he was part of for many years. I don't recall him being too concerned about destroying peoples lives when he was the Editor of 2 trashy tabloids. Far from it!

He talks about giving her a break but what about the way he ripped into Nick Hell in the semi's,i suppose this is totally acceptable ? Different acts but slight bias towards Susan again.

I will stick to my own opinion about tis 2nd rate singer and Piers can stick to his own. Although trust me on this one as i am right!

OK. So if the whole BGT experience is upsetting Susan, do you think it's fair (or good for her well-being) for it to continue? Would you be happy to see Susan go into total meltdown on live TV on Saturday? I know I wouldn't!

Clearly the BGT peeps don't give a damn about her, which is a shame! They built her up to ridiculous levels and have put her under the kind of pressure she should never have had to endure!

As far as I can see, she's being treated by the public and the media exactly the same as anyone in the public eye would be treated. It's not always fair (we know how nasty the media can be, and the public, come to that), but it's par for the course. If Susan really can't cope, then the kindest thing would be for her to leave the show.

You cant kick someone out just because they have learning difficulties we are not in the 1950's anymore, there is such a thing as equal oppurtunities.
