How do you store mushrooms?
We get mushrooms from the shop in a plastic bag and store them at room temperature but they always go slimy after a few days. I still eat them as they otherwise look and smell OK and I fry them so can't really tell they were slimy, but I can't help thinking we're storing them wrong. Is a paper bag better (not sure where we'd get them from), would the fridge be better?

Definitely in the fridge. Sometimes we keep them in a paper bag and other times in the plastic pre-packed carton. They keep for quite a while.

In a container in the fridge but with no lid. I heard somewhere not to cover them or they sweat.

If we get them with the plastic bottom and cling-film top then we take the cling film off.....seems to help them last longer.
