Partly agree with Karen, right style but content/intellect wise, a waste of space

You're missing the point, I think. This isn't about getting the best from the interviewees but providing entertaining telly and the series relies on the squirm factor for its ratings. No one is really interested in what happens to the chump who finally gets the job.

So entertaining telly is as squirming and painful as possible?
You'd have loved the Romans. Bread and circuses.

I hate the interviews, again very heavily edited as always. I know they have to have interviews but why not offscreen. Report back to SAS and then have one task where he can find 'reasons' to get rid of the three that 'fail'”

Your joking right?- this is one of the reasons we all watch it surely? simply great tv

Last year we has

Bordan Tkachuk - CEO of Viglen
Claude littner - Used to run spurs for sas
Paul Kemsley - property magnate
Karen Brady - ceo of birmingham city

However last night it showed a new guy who i had never seen before at the interview stage. Any idea who he is ? Also i`m not so sure if Paul kemsley will be making an appearance as i heard somewhere that his businesses were in trouble.”

The new guy is someone Watts. A hotshot lawyer.

Alan Watts? Acted for SAS against Terry Venables and for libel against the Daily Mail.

Looks like it. Nice hunting. He's the guy asking Debra if she's told someone at work to EFF OFF! I hope it's a customer.

Herbert Smith is the firm Margaret was a partner at too, I believe.

That's the fella.

Talks sense. I like him.

I hate the interviewers. I know its a bit put on for the show, but if i went for an interview and was spoken to as rudely as they speak to the contestants, I wouldn't walk out. I certainly wouldn't want the job.

I'd like to have seen them bring back a past contestant perhaps Ruth Badger or Tim (the chap who won it the first year) after all they both know what it takes to get to the final and should both know what SAS is looking for.

I too hate the way they never seem to let the candidates finish their explanation or sentence - awful interview technique - Most seem to have a high IQ but not much of an EQ!

I never thought I'd agree with you on anything but it appears I was wrong.

Karen came across as a complete waste of oxygen, at least insofar as the interviews were concerned. She wasn't "too nice" but her contributions were vague, ambiguous and all that guff about Alex was as transparent as glass. I cringed every time she opened her piehole.

I'm sure she's a pleasant woman but I don't think she's sufficiently intelligent to have warranted a place on that particular panel, in all honesty.

I'd quite like to see Michelle Mone there instead of Karen Brady. I think she'd give Debra a run for her money

God no, not that harridan. She improved marginally in my estimation after the Celeb thing, but really she is unbearably self-righteous, and it's all rather ridiculous considering her past history with employees.

I thought Karren was OK. So the Alex bit was pretty cringeworthy but she was at least not rude to the candidates and tried to see something, anything positive in them. Unlike Paul Kelmsley, who will usually only like you if you're a BLOKE (or just about, if you're an attractive ladette), and you do manly things, and you don't have no poncey degree or nuffink, or like anything other than darts and a swift pint after a hard manly day's graft. Such interviewing.

Agreed. She was so 'holier than thou' on Katie Hopkins's YF that I actually began to root for Katie, who at least partly made her outrageous comments with the intention of being entertaining.

Agree with this too. Loved the Paul bit. Okay, so Karen isn't in possession of a searing intellect or anything, but she adds a touch of gentleness and compassion which is a good foil to the other terrifyingly aggressive Spanish Inquisition types. There's only so much of people being barked at that I can take. She fills the 'good cop' role.

Agreed. I don't like Michelle Mone since her exchange with Katie Hopkins. Her comments were unnecessary.

Hi can someone remind me about that interview - was she having a go at Katie because of her affairs?

Yeah

I dont think the interviews are actual interviews.....

Interviews are supposed to be fun at times rather than scary but the way the men especially interview the candidates is almost bullying at times. The only one that i dont mind is Karen.

Probably the same bunch of mardy, arrogant tossers we had last year. And it's more like an interogation than an interview
