He isn't very fit compared to dancers of any age! If he's serious about a dance career he needs to get to a gym and train up - every day, and then spend at least 2-3 hours a day dance training.

Every week I see competitive ballroom dancers in their 60+s who are fitter than he is!

He is not fit for his age

I watched my daughter of 13 do three routines back to back involving costume changes and she was not as out of breath as him.

i agree. He couldn't speak last night for being so out of breath. He is probably the unfittest dancer I have seen. He obviously doesn't train enough. the old man breakdancer was fitter.

Though the old mans routine was probably slightly less strenuous

His performances are nothing special almost anyone into that sort of thing can do it and probable better. Most of he routine iinvolded standing behind screens waving his arms and shaking his legs. Hardly difficult an 8 year old could do that and probably better. Still he is cheap so should please Simon

No defense of George Sampson but I agree - the people who stage these things are completely clueless. They didn't do Frank Bowers any favours by surrounding him with young people on stage - that was just daft. I mean, that's a very limited "act" to begin with but wouldn't it have been better if they'd surrounded him with OAPs with Zimmer frames? Or even just alone?

And whomever thought separating 2 Grand for the first half of their song clearly has no understanding that the appeal is their relationship - not the bloody song!

I sometimes wonder if these things are staged purposely as a sort of awkward, ritual humiliation.

So he should have improved last year his act was only average and not so good as the other pair of male dancers (sorry cant remember their name) who were robbed by Sampsons tear jerking orations regarding his mother, how he was brougt up, dancing for food on the table etc etc

I was never able, and am still unable, to understand the venom targetted at George - I loved him in last year's BGT and was really pleased he won. He isn't technically the best dancer in the any year of the competition, but there's a passion to the way he dances that makes him very watchable. For me and those who voted him the winner, anyway - clearly not for a lot of people on this forum. End of the day he's not done anything wrong nor have any of the participants in the contest - they presented themselves and their skills to the public and unfortunately a lot of the public are spiteful people who grab the first opportunity they have to slag off other people and feel better about themselves. Shrug.

Why does anyone hate anything? Personal preference, i dont think the boy HAS talent. And millions agree with me. Its fine to disagree thats what a discussion is for. Jurt when unimaginative people decide to attack the poster is pathetic

Don't mean to be *******pedantic, but the original message was along the lines that George Sampson was a '****', which may not be the same as '****', or even '****'.

What do you ******* think he is?

We saw George LIVE on Wednesday night
He has a broken toe & a sprained knee. His set was cut from 45minutes to 20minutes alot of which was talking. He did three routines including Singin in the Rain.
He did say that he had been advised not to perform.
This could explain his laclustre performance

Where did you see him on Wednesday night??????

We were at Butlins on Wednesday night. He was billed to perform, but we were told that he wasn't going to show because he had a broken toe. So, if you saw him on Wednesday night, I will be bloody annoyed.

George Sampson's performance reminded me of The Full Monty. I'll explain...

Remember Hugo Speer's character Guy during his stripper audition saying: "Me favorite film's Singing in't Rain. They do that walking-up-wall thing. Bloody ace, it is"

He attempts it and the outcome is very similar to George's LOL.

Oh dear! Sorry to hear that.
We were at butlins. He did 20 minute show. The centrestage was full to bursting!
At the start he apologised for having a broken toe & spained knee & said he had been told not to perform.
i also waited outside the stage door wit my kids for him to leave so they could se him. (my daughters 12 & thinks he's lovely!)

He was obviously limping & in some discomfort & left on crutches.
It maybe that he's not been able to train & is on painkillers.
