I could have guessed he was anyway.

They really should have played on that

He seemed to be gurning throughout, like Katona.

To me he was yet another stage school clone. The whole act followed totally the stage school script down to the slightest movement. It was ok but it was not a ntural performance just a stage managed one

Typical stage school approach lot's of silly grinning is mandatory.

You can tell these kids a mile away. The act is always preety much identical down to being an almost a carbon copy. I suppose the only slight difference is he did not do Oliver.

I always find most kids called Callum are twits and the overdone stage scholl performance and presentation did him no good neither.

These stage schools clones are two a penny. He might get a job in a Christmas Panto for a few weeks each year at Christmas.

His singing wasn't that good, but then I didn't think much of the granda and granddaughter act either. In fact, I thought they were a lot worse. I thought that Callum was your typical variety act for a show like this and was better entertainment than the sympathy act that ended up getting through.

Hi JTW, I think we had sympathy overload last night, disappointed with the acts this year, I think it might be a weak final.

Hiya Jilly.....good to see you I didn't know that you were suffering this crap as well

I have to agree with you about the standards this year. We can firmly lay the blame at the judges feet for that and half the rubbish they allowed through in the first place.

Hate to say it about an innocent kid, but I found him very annoying to say the least; that stupid grin - grrrrrrr! Didn't particularly like the old bloke and his granddaughter but I was praying they'd get picked over him.

Last night I thought the saxophonist was the best.

I found his grin very forced and irritating

Though I do admire his courage for coming out wearing nothing but a loincloth

and the girl natalie even though she was cute i wasn't taken in by her age and knew her voice wasn't up too scratch that day..........”

I agree. Callum handled defeat very well without even a word of sympathy from the old grandad. I thought that Callum's act was enjoyable to watch and I hope he does well in his future.

I liked Callum - I'm not sure if he was good enough to be in the final, but then I don't think 2 Grand were really any better. I think he has a lovely smile - I can't understrand all the harsh criticism levelled against him, but I also think his audition performance was better. Last night he was good, but lacked the wow factor. But there again, I think compared to the last two years this year BGT is very weak.

Oh thank you, thank you...... I was beginning to think I was in a minority of one!

I liked Callum; his singing wasn't very good admittedly, but then it is quite difficult to sing well while dancing at the same time. But I thought he had personality in abundance which so many of the contestants lack completely - 2 Grand for example were not only poor singers but DULL with it.

I can easily see Callum on stage in musicals, not yet perhaps, but certainly in a few years time.

And yes, he handled his defeat extremely well, and unlike everyone else on here, I did find his smile infectious.

The grin looks so false to me. Like he's been coached by stage school to always grin for "cuteness".

Agree completely. His voice is not that good at all, he is just a kid who people think is cute. I haven't seen his appeal at all in this whole show, and wasn't surprise that he didn't go through last night.

I didn't hugely enjoy Callum's act, but I had no idea he had autism. I thought his general performance was quite good, if not his actual singing and - as is the way with autistic people - he didn't have the guile to milk his condition, unlike Grandad and his endless references to his dead wife. The granddaughter has a beautiful voice, though.

I didn't think he had a brilliant voice either, good projection though.

Your post made me laugh. I agree with you entirely but do I love the way you ask questions and answer them yourself? Like heck I do!

Agree. I'd love to punch it off his face. He is soooooo annoying. He should bugger off and annoy someone else instead of the viewers who have to suffer the stupid grin - AND his act was rubbish and twee.

Callum's act was good fun in a way but also rather annoying and twee - when those guys in the Baloo and King Louie costumes arrived it felt disturbingly like those children's shows that are performed in theme parks. Not worthy of a place in the final and rather naff.
Certainly not worthy of a final place

I thought he was very cute with a lovely grin but his singing was flat and he didn't deserve to go through.
However, all credit to Callum for being gracious in defeat and not whingeing about it.

I think he did really well bearing this in mind, he also took his exit with great dignity unlike the crying girl from fist semi.

I think the comments about him have been harsh, I liked his performance, and he seemed like a nice lad, I hope he goes on to do well.
