There I said it and I await the flames.

I know she won't lose, but I think there are better acts than than her in the final.

So fedup with all this over the top praise like she is the greatest vocalist since Jesus sang for his supper.

I really hope she doesn't but I know she will.

Diversity to win!

I have nothing against the woman but she is totally over rated and as her second performance proved, under pressure she isn't actually that good!
Now everyone has got over the shock of a manly woman secretly has an amazing voice her act is just the same as any other opera singer and i think there are better out there!.
I really hope she is not the winner!

Sorry I dont agree.

I dont think she will win.
It only takes the pressure of this week to show again IMO
I think we are looking at car crash TV.

They wont admit it bet theres some VERY worried execs on that show

Simon himself would probably quite happily spend a few quid out of his huge fortune to guarantee her win

Count me in as someone who wants her to lose, but not because of her personally, simply because of the way it's been over hyped around the whole world. I still can't quite believe that it happened the way it did

I really don't care whether Susan Boyle wins or loses but the backlash against her makes me want to puke. Oh how the media love to build to someone up and then knock them down, they can't even wait till the competition is over to pull her to pieces. This country has gone to the dogs!

Actually, now that I think about it, yes partly because of her personally. I think she's fake, I think she's spoilt and I think that she's arrogant. I would imagine that her whole life when people have heard her sing they have commented on how amazing she is, and suddenly not everyone has that opinion of her and she doesn't like it. I really didn't like the way she acted during the auditions or at the semi final stage. Some people say that she's just being 'fun' or it's because she has some mental problems. I think it's just the tip of the iceberg of what kind of a person she really is. I can only judge on what I've seen, though, and not from ever having met her.

I'm in too. Don't like her personality, don't like her appearance, and above all else I don't think she's as amazing at singing as everyone makes out. There may be a few tone deaf people who genuinely think she's the dog's bs but I reckong a large proportion of her supporters just see an old, unfortunate looking woman with supposed learning difficulties and go into sentimental mode. Now, I'm not saying I don't like a good sob story but:

a) If she's an amazing singer then her learning difficulties clearly aren't hindering that so why do they even come into it?
b) If her learning difficulties are a factor, and she's mediocre but trying hard despite them, why all the hype?

I hope you're right. But she did get 76% of the vote compared to 7 other acts!

But let's compare her to those other seven acts; not that many that were going to be strong competition, really.

Well you've certainly got a lot of information stored up from what you've seen. Or maybe we just see what we want to see

I the might and spite of the great British tabloid press cant derail the Susan Boyle train , and God knows they have tried this week, I doubt a few requests on the internet will do the trick. I think you are peeing into the wind.

I think most people are good at judging people from what they've seen on television. She's not playing a part, that really was her. It's like meeting them but not in the flesh.

You've developed some very strong opinions on her character. Fake? Spoilt? Arrogant? Tip of the iceberg?

She's spent her whole life in a small hamlet looking after her mother and living with her cat. She has apparently never had a meaningful relationship. She also apparently has some form of mental developmental issues. Fake? I don't get that one.

She hardly seems spoiled and arrogant She isn't the world's best vocalist or anything, but she has a good voice I think, IMO it's just the praise/hype has gone OTT and I find that annoying. But none of this is Susan's doing, it's the media/judges. Eg, look at how the judges praised her 1/2 final performance, it was good but hardly amazing.
I wouldnt say I want her to lose.

Exactly.

Its a shame some people who don't like her voice always decide some way to critisise her, from her looks, to a harmless personality.

It happens on all forums. It happened with Danny Gokey on American Idol and to some extent Diana Vickers on X Factor, and its been wrong all times.

She's spent her whole life trying to be noticed for her singing, as well as looking after her mother and living with her cat. She claimed to have never been kissed, and that turned out to be just 'banter' (from her own words). What we see on screen before and after her singing is the real Susan Boyle. A little playful, a little fiery, a little crazy. Her recent outbursts are the real Susan Boyle. A little sweary, a little threatening and a little out of control.

Whether she has learning difficulties or not is not the issue. The fact that the real Susan Boyle is hidden under this false image that has been fed to us by the media and herself, is what it's about.

People could say that I just don't see it, and that's fair enough. But what I do see is what others don't see, and that's also fair enough. We all see different things in people, and some will always see the positives and miss the negatives and others will be vice versa.

We don't KNOW people on the telly. All we see is a tiny fragment of them. Do you not see that she might not be as worldly and informed as some of us? or is your editing of her selective?

I hope she does for two reasons:

i) she's got a mediocre voice and doesn't deserve to win

ii) nothing would please me more than to see Cowell's new cash-cow crash and burn

Overheard in my office right this minute: "I'm sick of hearing about flipping Susan Boyle."

I hope she loses too. She has become far too big compare to the rest of the contestants. They don't stand a chance. Especially after hearing about her swearing when a fellow contestant who is actually better than her was praised by Piers. I think she has some front and is actually letting all the fame go over her head when actually there are better people in the competition than her and she is liked more for her eccentricity (if that's actually a word) rather than her singing talent.

Sick of listening and seeing her name all over the press but I guess that aint her fault.

I got a feeling she will be the winner on Saturday, though she is certainly not my favorite.

Me too, how are they going to fix this if it looks as if she is not going to win.

Is she seriously going to have a record contract?? I can't believe she'll sell any records. Paul Potts sells because he has TALENT!
