Hmmmm, if memory serves Eddie on Outpost Skaro claimed a long while ago that Matt's companion would be a Scottish maid from late Victorian times so I wonder how accurate this will turn out to be.

Maybe having a character who is a little more composed and dignified than the run we've seen so far will help detract away from the HollyOaks in Space vibe.

I did. But only because i'd seen her in something else and thought she was so hot that i just had to see what else she had been in.

I know nothing about the actress, but i do feel very proud to say that i DO remember her in Fires Of Pompeii....one of the Sisterhood, i definitely remember her kneeling on the floor on worshipping the Pyrovile. No idea why, I guess the red hair stuck out as kind of odd in ancient Italy!

Will have to see how she is, hopefully she'll do a good job as what Moffat is saying sounds promising.

The actress may be 21 but I'm sure the character will be in her late teens. Maybe even a sixth former or a gap year student.

Oh, I dunno. The old formula used to be older doctor, younger assistant, platonic relationship. It's a pretty old-school decision IMO, I can't see him taking much flack for that casting (unless she turns out to be awful, of course).

And as others have said, she sure is mighty pretty.
