Or his "straight" agenda.

Just as a matter of interest, if anyone can be arsed telling me, why do you have to pay to post on the doctorwhofourm ?

It seems they lock threads to patrons only after a while.

Well as a theory, and i doubt Moff will go down this route, but she could be a bit like Trix in the 8th Doctor novals, who ends up hiding in the Tardis....and then her travels start from there......

Again, yes this is the first time that the Doctor allowed a young, beautiful woman on board the Tardis isn't it.....and always for that reason......

It's usually patrons only for a couple of hours after a new episode or any big news - stops the server crashing.

It's my reward for putting up with that bloody woman from last season.

I've adored Karen Gillan since she appeared in the otherwise awful Kevin Bishop Show.

Interesting choice of actress. A relative unknown by all accounts. I was hoping for an older actress given Matt Smiths age but with zero information about this girl I can't form any opinion of her at the moment.

They were never going to cast someone who'd overshadow him in either fame or age.

I don't care who the assistant is, as long as we don't have to put up with any more love stories between the doctor and the assistant. I'm not confident with this choice we are going to escape all the crappy mooning though.

Seeing as SM wrote Girl In The Fireplace, I am certain you are going to be disappointed there.

I'll take that on board as opinion rather than fact. I disagree in respect to age, I think an older actress or actor would have been a good choice.

I do wonder if the Moff is trying to appeal to the Twilight audience though. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Well, it's a fact that they cast someone younger than him and even less known than he is!

I can see the fact with both leads being young actors (all though as I am also in that category, I tend to think that I was rather not judged on my capabilities of doing a job due to my age either) why there is a feeling that Moff might be going for the so called Twilght area....but considering this is the Moff, who's stories have been lauded as the best of the best, who came up with the Sally blooming Sparrow character that many seem to worship, and that he is a fan, and knows that the show is a success without having ever panderd to the Twilight audiance.......why would he do that.......

Matt isn't that many years younger than Davison when he took the part, and having a 21 year old actress as an assisstant is hardly new thing either.......

So basically....no I don't see Moff trying to attract a crowd that there is no need to attract.....

I for one am shocked! I've been reading the tabloids faithfully and I just knew it was going to be Lily Allen or Georgia Moffat, with an outside chance of it being Sally Sparrow.

What's the world coming to when you can't rely on the tabloids for accurate information on Doctor Who casting months in advance?

(bitterly disappointed, that's me. )

So Piers Wenger told the truth back in January when he said they were looking for a young actress at the start of her career.

Is he really DW Producer material?

so thats two bland unknown actors in the main roles..I'd say the BBC are trying to make this show on a shoestring budget.
This show needs a known face/personality - You would have think they learned their lessons with Freema....
I guess they will be begging Catherine Tate or Billie Piper to come back in 2011 because anything else will suggest that Matt Smith was completely the wrong choice.

Right, cause having a famous face like Catherine Tate created such enthusiasm for the show among the fans who recognised her

As BBC tend to see a show's success on the merits of ratings and AI's......I would say that from series 3, they would never have seen a lesson to be learned.........because ratings wise, it was the same as series 2.....so no Billie factor at all....its the show that creates the success for the actors, not the other way round.....I hadn't even heard of DT before Doctor Who.....now I cannot believe that I hadn't ever noticed him....

Yep, there were no petitions against her, no threats of boycotts....and no predictions of the end of Who!!!!!! Absolutly none...........

She is clearly a regenerated younger version of Donna Noble.
