But he hadn't forgotten his steps, they had a microphone malfunction.

I think it really unfair because if she had just sung her song and got off that would have been even footing but to have a full blown sobbing fit made everyone feel guilty (as they should putting a kid who is blatantly unable to cope with the pressure) and then think because she was 'brave' that they must then reward her singing again by voting for her.
How the hell would she be able to carry on if she was on the Royal Variety? Stop the entire show while mummy ran on and asked if they could disrupt the running of the show while she did it again.

she sung very very well the second time through and she was brave to go up there again so good on her for that. i just find her a bit annoying and not particularly cute either. : /

What I can't stand is how the word 'brave' and courageous is overused these days. I think it should be reserved for the people who die for worthwhile causes, those who give something to this planet, survivors. Not a little girl who, lets face it, threw a wobbly and got exactly what she (or her mother) wanted.
I hope for her sake, if the tears were real, no one puts her through any more stress.
