After that farce we have just witnessed, i.e. Hollie Steel getting through to the final, I just cannot bring myself to watch this show ever again.

It has, in the space of a week, become Car Crash TV that is way over the top.

It won't make any difference.

And I don't think the lowest point of tonight was the young lass getting through, I think it was the dreadful reaction of people on this very forum.

I will be amazed if she is alowed to perform. If ITV have any sense they will pull her out before they are forced to.

Who did you want to get to the final?

I'll watch the other performances, but I will be switching when Hollie comes on. Nothing against the girl, but I just won't be entertained knowing what happened tonight.

After the humiliation that the other 10 year old was put through in the first semi final when Diversity were chosen ahead of her and then tonight BGT and Simon Cowell have to raise the minimum age level from next year to 12 or even 15. If that means Aiden Davies wouldn't get through so be it but they can't have two of the semis with children being humiliated like this.

After all Mr Cowell if 10 year olds are allowed to sing and be humiliated on BGT why don't you allow it on the X Factor?

Suppose but then why should I watch a 10-year-old go through mental torture?

Why should I watch a 10-year-old being controlled by a pushy parent?

What I saw tonight was disgusting and it should have never have happened on Live TV.

If she pulls the same stunt tomorrow night like she did tonight, I don't know if I could mentally cope watching her paddy all over again hence the reason why it's safe for me to boycott the rest of the show.

I know it's just TV but I hate seeing kids in the mental and emotional state that hollie was in tonight. It has shocked me. I wouldn't want to see it in public why should I have to watch it on TV?

Why was Declan Donnelly so stupid to consult the producer in the immediate seconds that followed Hollie's first performance and then let slip to Hollie that she wouldn't be able to perform again tonight?

Ant and Dec may have the charisma at presenting these shows but sometimes they show themselves up in terms of timing and judgement.

They were improvising under very difficult circumstances, I thought they did about as well as could be expected.

I don't think I can bear to watch if Hollie performs tomorrow night, it was just too uncomfortable watching her distress tonight. I think she was genuinely petrified and I'd rather she pulled out of the final.

It was Ant who said that.

they were only saying what the producer told them to say.....
how is that their fault?

"They were improvising under very difficult circumstances, I thought they did about as well as could be expected."

There are words I could use for Declan Donnelly after what he did. It wasn't improvising pure stupidity. They could have gone to a commerical break to give everyone a breather to enable the proper consultation with the producers and Simon Cowell. In the instant seconds that followed that no producer is going to agree immediately to Hollie singing again because of the scheduling. By then letting it slip to Hollie it just made the situation ten times worse as she became more distressed and forced Simon Cowell's hand. It was badly handled and showed Ant and Dec up for the inexperienced jokers they really are.

Er, they managed to get Kelly Brook sacked from the show so I think they have more authority than you're giving them credit for!

You couldn't have said it better my friend. However I wouldn't totally blame Ant and Dec for all this. The producers should have immediately went to a commercial break or pulled the show off air for a few minutes.

Perhaps there might not have been that big uproar we have seen tonight.
Hello.
29-05-2009
I have to say that my dad found her incredibly hard to watch after her first performance. It just was not entertainment. It was like watching a horror movie. Very uncomfortable to watch indeed. I was very angry to see Hollie in the two acts that the judges had to pick between, never mind actually getting through to the final.
