blame the mother not hollie

For her mother to push her to go back on was utterly dispicable, its the typical pushy mother.
When her little girl got that upset her mother should have taken her out of the pressure arena.

And her mother should be ashamed, because when that little girl doesnt win which will innevitably happen, the girl will be inconsolable.

Pat yourself on the back hollies mum, I just hope all the fame YOU crave is worth your daughters dissapointment

I hope REAL talent wins tommorow not a sympathy vote

I agree with you. This is ultimately down to that little girl's expectations of herself...and her parent's have obviously built it up to totally unrealistic standards to the point that when she knew she was off key, that she had a meltdown. The tears afterwords, and the practical begging for a second chance was the most uncomfortable moments I've ever witnessed on this show.

It was extremely uncomfortable viewing wasnt it? The girl was petrified of failure, I just hope getting through tonight has saved the girl from a tongue lashing at home

Hollie is her ticket to riches. The mum's begging was shameful

I totally agree, I feel sorry for that little girl with such a pushy mom. It was uncomfortable for me to watch and I don't think she should have gotten through. She was absolutely terrified of failing.

Yes, so do I, but she sure knows how to work it when things are not going her way.

I thought the mother's first response would have been to rush her offstage, but no.

I know thats the impression she gives, perhaps her mum never made it in showbusiness and now is unfairly living out her dreams in her little girl.
I felt for her tonight, and the awful comments of some on here tonight is shamefull, vile and makes me ashamed to be british.

The girl was given a second chance and that may well be wrong, she may also not be the best act but its definately pressure on her thats made he crack tonight and made her show such desperation to get through.

The mother should hang her head in shame

I just hope ITV see's sense and withdraws her from the competion. The poor girl should not be forced to suffer like that again. THis was not just a girl having a bit of a sob. You could see the petrified fear in her eyes.
The almost pleading let me do it again I won''t mess it up.

She clearly did not want to do it again but seemed more terrified of not being able to perform again.
Some of the most sickning TV ever.

Agreed, if she was that petrified for the semi final just how bad is she going to feel the pressure in the final??
I dont know if I can watch her

It's made me feel that there ought to be a minimum age limit for the show - perhaps about 12 years old - to help limit any pushy parent problems. Talented kids could easily wait until they were a bit older and still get on the show.

Good point, perhaps they really do have to think about that.
The kids could be ruined for life after these shows

I blame all this high school musical stuff and shows like it, the kids are being brainwashed by the shows.

And these talent shows offer them the quick step to stardom they crave

What was even more concerning was it was Ant & Dec comforting her while her mother was saying get back up there and carry on.

Something has to change after this sickening event.

Doesn't she just.

That brat infuriated me and ruined the show for me.

I've already said this in another thread, but if I was my kid up there I would not want a second chance for her, she would of done me proud for just getting up there, even if she mucked up. I love my child too much too try to get her to do it again, especially if she was upset.

I agree, especially on the point in bold. It was more than just forgetting her lines, there was real fear there.

yeah obviously it's not hollie's fault. it's her parents' fault! to bring up their child like that!

It was uncomfortable viewing, the Mother should have quietly removed her from the stage. She's not massively talented anyway.
