I think that Simon Cowell this entire series has been very tame compared to previous years. It's a shame really because part of the reason I enjoy the show is because of Simon and his truthful comments, but it's as if this year he is fully aware of how his comments could scar people, not that it's ever mattered before.

I honestly think the Hollie Steel debacle could mark a complete change of fortune for Simon even.

I truly do.

What do you think?”

On the contrary - I think this will make him even more money!

BGT been a farce from day1this time, the winner was chosen before the semi finals ,rubbish acts allowed through and good acts thrown out .kids crying on stage almost every night ,so what happens in the final if one of the other kids go wrong and cry can they start again also ,hell we might get them all crying tomorrow to get more votes.

Yeah I sense the introduction of a kids and adults show with the kids one being fairly lite and not such a big deal.

But that's not fair on youngsters like Aidan and Shaheen who are both clearly in their element on stage.

Oh yes, had forgotten (or repressed!) her. It would be interesting to see more of the contestants a few years down the line when they're forgotten, to see what the impact was on their lives.

next year look for the word exaggeration in the dictionary and you'll find this God forbid someone does something you dislike eh?

Oh, I honestly think this will really damage the whole format.

I wasn't particularly angry about tonight either. I just sat back and watched it open mouthed...

actually to me he looks throughly bored, everytime the camera pans to him, hes looking over his shoulder like hes waiting for the doorman to scream taxi for cowell.

He does that a lot on the X-Factor too, apparently he likes to look at the audience and see how they're reacting.

Yes, that too. A number of times the camera has caught him looking bored to tears and disappointed with a number of acts. I suppose it's possible that he's just tired from his heavy workload.

But if that's the case, maybe he should have put through less 'comedy' acts that are just there for him to mock, and more of the acts with actual talent who didn't make it...

The ratings won't match this years, but that is just because they won't have a hope of matching the Susan Boyle hype next year.

For one Hollie think of all the talented kids that there have been passing through the show! Even just look at Aiden tonight.

Exactly. It would be an immense shame if the rest of the young performers hadn't had the opportunity to enter. You can't deny Aidan, Natalie, Shaheen, Elliott Evans and so on the chance to do something they love because of the possibility that one child may not cope.

echo that
they should be a minimum age of at least 16
these kids are not able to deal with all the media hype that goes with a show like this
sadly i think its not the show but the media that are exploiting them with all the background stories they are printing on the contestants everyday
saying that the parents are probabley the most at fault as
they must have allowed their kids to be on the show and they must have given their permission for the interviews

I agree and think also SuBo being a bit unstable after what they did with her is also very wrong. She thought she was entering a uk talent contest, she never bargained for them to edit it like she was the second coming of christ and spin her worldwide publicity.

I think both BB, XF and BGT need looking at from a psychological point of view. Remember a girl from AI committed suicide.
