As Piers said that was a better performance than her audition. She's won the show easily..as if it was ever in doubt. Well done girl!

Overrated, but hardly crap. She is a good singer and will probably make a lot of money. Just becuase you don't like her vioce, doesn't mean it's bad.
You cynics can moan but she's going to sell 20 million albums plus by Xmas 2010. She'll be a multimillionaire and household name and you lot will be...well nothing really!

Pavarotti was an Opera singer not a Musical theatre singer. Secondly in terms of vocal style she is up there with Elaine Paige

I think she sings amazingly well to be fair. I listened to her version of Cry Me a River on youtube, it was brilliant.
I just dont' know what the whole craze is about though, it was just the inital surprise but the world has gone mad.

while there is no question she can sing....she is most deffinatelly not the most talented there.

I've actually seen Elaine Paige live a few times when working and have to say she ain't a patch on Elaine Paige, and its not even the type of music I enjoy!

Clearly not a theatre goer.
If we didn't know who she was,people would be saying that was a superb final performance.It was miles better than Jamie Pugh the other evening.

The whole thing with Susan Boyle is not that she is an excellent singer, or that she looks average, but that when she sings, for some reason, quite a lot of people have a very emotional reaction to it and start crying.... It is purely biological. Some singers just have an emotional quality in their voice which causes a reaction in the brain. That's why people who are unaffected are getting so angry - they are just hearing a competent singer.

Ohh thanks for clearing that up! So its not that shes actually just average - its because shes so good that she tells my brain to think that shes average. Phew!
by the by, I do not think she was the best act. I totaly want Diversity to win after their performance. I'm just saying I thought Susan was good tonight. But she is hardy a wonderful singer and that is the truth. But she is good.
as i've said in other threads - for someone who has had vocal coaching and years of choral singing, she is average. She has a young, sweet tone to her voice that belies her appearance. That is all. If she was an attractive 20 year old, she wouldn't have gotten through.

I agree with you.
I'm a professional singer, and technically, Susan's above average, nothing more - nice voice, reasonably well in tune (most of the time), but there's something about how her voice grabs you that sets her apart, and makes her a real Marmite act...I'm trying to be objective here, before anyone jumps on me, and as for saying whether I like her singing or not, I'm staying firmly on the fence, and getting splinters in my @rse!
For the record, Diversity were incredible, and I nearly needed a clean pair after laughing so hard at Stavros Flatley
