yeh cause were all robots and spend our money on things we dont want?

wtf
Some people actualy are like that and are manipulated into making snap decisions on what to buy. They do it in supermarkets and music shops, I watched a show on it. They have retail phsycologists, who work it all out, hard to believe I know.

i think she has a good voice but nothing special certainly not good enough for the amount of hype that has been following her around for weeks but diversity are in my opinion very talented and you can just tell how much time and hard work they have put into their routines so for me they deserve to win

Me too, but sadly, I have no doubt that Susan has won, considering the hype about her.

Ohh thanks for clearing that up! So its not that shes actually just average - its because shes so good that she tells my brain to think that shes average. Phew!
No, that isn't what I was saying..... When people listen to music, it stimulates the brain - they can put two different people in a brain scanner, they listen to the same music and the emotional part of one person's brain may be completely lit up (activated) by hearing the music while the other person remains unmoved. Susan Boyle, for some reason, possesses a quality in her voice which evokes a strong emotional response in LOTS of people, causing them to cry. While other people (like you) are not having the same reaction - you are just hearing the average singer and can't see what all the fuss is about.

I will be very disappointed if Susan wins, she has a nice singing voice but for me she isn't the best of the acts who are in the final.

She really belted out the song in the audition but it was much more subdued tonight. Though she was so far in front that the sensible thing to do was play it safe and not mess up.

The whole thing with Susan Boyle is not that she is an excellent singer, or that she looks average, but that when she sings, for some reason, quite a lot of people have a very emotional reaction to it and start crying.... It is purely biological. Some singers just have an emotional quality in their voice which causes a reaction in the brain. That's why people who are unaffected are getting so angry - they are just hearing a competent singer.
I'm a bit well, not sober, I wasnt' a fan of hers, but I've just watched her, and all the technical stuff just went out the window and I was moved to tears. That is really special.

She has heart and emotion in her voice and performance. That communicates.

I cried when I first heard her, but I think the song has a lot to do with it. Also cried when Jamie Pugh sung from Les Miserables. I don't think either of them are that good now ?

I'm happy I was wrong. I just thought becuase of all the hype surrounding Susan that she would win.

I thought Diversity would come second, so I was close.

I was worried that you were correct.

I would honestly feel embarrassed to put her in front of the queen.
