I got a recorded BT message saying the lines were busy when I tried the first time to vote for Diversity.
I think the problem is beyond ITV's control.

That means nothing. Everyone calls the same phone line. Everyone gets an engaged tone. You just have more people reporting Diversity or Susan are engaged because they appear to be the front runners and there are more people calling them who can then report a problem.
It's taken me 30 mins to get a vote in for Diversity. They need more phone lines, some people may well have given up, especially if they were just going to vote on the spur of the moment.

'Telephone network busy' message voting for Susan Boyle. Wasn't there on Sunday or Tuesday when I voted for Gareth.
There is no conspiracy.....just loads of people trying to vote!!

I voted for SB and got through first time, likewise Stavros but tried to vote for Shaheen and kept getting recorded "line busy" message.
If you get through do they say "You've voted for..." straight away because so far it's either been an engaged tone or the line was dead.

Its ITV at fault they do this every bloody time with x factor also.

The reason it took you 30 mins is that the phone lines wernt open for most of that time
