Britain's got Talent 3: Diversity beat Susan
American Idol 8: Kris Beats Adam
X Factor 4: Leon beats Rhydian
X Factor 5: Laura; Austin go very early, long time favourite Diana 4th
Big Brother 9: Rachel beats Mikey
Celeb Big Brother 6: Ulrika beats Verne
Big Brother 8: Brian beats Samanda

Whats going on?

Up unil 2007 the bookies got everything right almost all the time, especially when it came to the winners

I thik its because people are getting annoyed with all the pimping of acts going on. Especially from Simon Cowell.
He seems to order people to vote for someone, and it annoys in the end. I know for a fact that was the case for Adam Vs kris The pimping was unbelievable, not to mention the unfair air time. It was the case when they keep telling us how great Diana Vickers was, when she clearly wasnt. Simon was quite rude with Leon an that helped him. ANd Susan was ust the overkill from the media, and the patronising praise she was getting, only becasue she wasnt good looking.

Hopefully they will learn, and now just give their impartial opinions, instead o tryng to get the result they want at all costs.

Diversity were amazing. Congrats to them and to Susan Boyle for 2nd place.

People like their underdogs it seems. What doesnt help (especially in Susan Boyles case) is the love the press have for bringing people up and then kicking them down again.

People tend to dislike the favouritism and pushing and extreme hype, especially if they don't perceive that person as the most talented.

The first time I recall it all going weird was in BB5, where that Stuart bloke (Scotsman who thought he was a Chippendale) came second, when he'd been grumpy, humourless and unpleasant throughout the entire series.

You can really only put these shock results down to vote rigging and/or betting scams.

It was only a shock if you were 'tarded. All the polls pointed to it being very close between Diversity and SuBo.

The real surprise was Julian getting 3rd.

I think complacency has a lot to do with it. People don't bother voting for the clear favourite because they think they've already won.

I'm guessing that had quite alot to do with him being the last act on the night imo

Wasn't diana favourite to leave at the stage she left aswell?

On the last three big UK RTV shows Alexandra, Ray Quinn and Diversity won because they were the best. Simple.

I'm actually starting to believe that the GBP is finally starting to get it right....

Yup, I'd agree with this. I think we all like to vote for the underdog in these types of shows.

Susan Boyle getting beaten was not a shock to me. With all the hype and publicity (much of it negative), she was always ripe for an upset.

It was just a matter of which act was going to cause the upset. There were about 5 acts good enough to win, so as long as the public latched onto one of those acts, Susan was always liable to be beaten.

I think the long running media hype has probably worked against her. She couldn't really live up to it.

That said, Simon and the show in general seemed to be pimping Diversity tonight so it's clearly not a big issue.

Adam Lambert and Rhydian were too divisive and probably suffered large "anti" votes with cute young guys in opposition.

Alexandra winning wasn't particularly surprising. Whereas Susan was still the favourite tonight, Diana had lost that title before she went out.
