I know a lot of forumites reverted to rather nasty personal attacks while others slammed her singing voice.

But after a very respectable final performance, and her grace in defeat, will some people on here admit that she wasn't so bad after all?

Because that would truly make the whole series for me...

Susan was very good indeed.

I still think she was an average singer, but her performance tonight was a lot better than in the Semi's. I also believe that her 'grace in defeat' was rehearsed, but I still thought it was very good of her, until she started acting all silly again which completely put me off her once more. That is one of the reasons I didn't like her before, because she did those silly moves and faces etc. Also as she walked off the stage she was doing a wiggle for the audience, I just felt it wasn't appropriate. Only my opinion, though. I would much rather she did her little speech and left the stage in a normal manner.

I don't think this is the last we'll hear of Susan Boyle, she will make a record and make lots of money, but I am overall happy with the result and think it was the right one.

She was. After the show, she seemed so calm and serene, like a huge wieght had been lifted from her.

I have never been a fan. I have not changed my opinion about her singing but always avoided the personal jibes and nasty remarks. I do think that she looked like a rabbit in the headlights tonight and was willing her on not to mess it up.

She was very gracious and took what must have been a huge disappointment very well. Piers did not help by his remarks. I have to wonder how many votes that cost her?

I hope she gets the chance to get some privacy, the chance to relax and prepare for recording an album. I hope that all her fans continue with their support by buying it so that she ends up a winner.

By the time the final came around I was absolutely bored off my t*** hearing about Susan Boyle but I liked her singing tonight. That's just how it went, I thought she sung to her best and gave a fab performance.

I do wish that people would distinguish Susan from the hype. They are very different, she didn't have a clue, none of us did, that any of this whole showbiz circus would happen.

Perhaps I should have added I was fed up of the hype and I didn't rate her singing on anything other than I Dream, but I liked her singing tonight
