Not sure what to think of this, particularly as I dislike Carole Malone. I think she's been quite insulting to Susan in parts of it.

Carole Malone pontificating again I see. She has to be the one of the vilest, most contradictory, hypocritical, inconsistent "journalists" out there. Can't stand the sight of her.

Yep, the very same woman. I think I got annoyed over her piece about Susan where she writes ---- 'I'm sorry but, with respect, Susan Boyle isn't capable of knowing what she wants or what the world of celebrity has in store for her. And that's not patronising, it's just rec- ognising who she is-something TV bosses surely would have done a long time ago had they not been blinded by £ signs. '

She doesn't have the right to make this judgement or assumption about what she is capable of.

I'm not Carole Malone biggest fan, but if you read the article in full, she's actually sticking up for Susan in the main (although at times in a somewhat condescending way). She's laying the blame of the pressure Susan has endured in the last week on the TV bosses, and blaming them for not protecting her more.

She'll lay the blame wherever she thinks it will get her the most reads/attention. Malone is the epitome of the lowest tabloid cack that is an embarassment to the word journalism.

Carole Malone is a cowardly, spiteful, duplicitous piece of work IMO, and I take anything she writes with a pinch of salt. Her faux concern for Susan Boyle, coupled with the usual hyperbole she embellishes her drivel with sickens me. What a patronising load of tosh.

i thnink she is spot on about the susie simple bit, susan boyle does come across as a bit slow. in fact, she looks as if she has a touch of downs syndrome when she smiles. i don't mean that disrespectfully to anybody.

But we ALL KNOW ALREADY that she has some challenges, that she was starved of oxygen at birth. Carole ******* Malone has NO RIGHT to judge her at all, she knows **** all about anything.

There are plenty of people out there who know people just like Susan, in their families or in their communities, and even if they don't they are quite capable of accepting her and her undoubted talent.

As I've previously said i'm not her biggest fan, and agree with what you say.....however, if you can look beyond your feelings towards her, and read the article she's actually trying to make a valid point on how the media and society as a whole have treated Susan. All be it in a crass/condescending sort of way.

I concur with this thread. Even a simple click that might somehow increase her importance by the tiniest of smidgeons, would feel as If I were committing hari-kari with a rusty bicycle spoke, such would be the treachery against my own crawing disdain for every facet of her existence.

The media have been so patronising about Susan. She gets a bit hyper at times but so what? I've known people who can get like that in real life, but most of the time they are perfectly rational people who aren't stupid.

There's so much snobbery in the media when it comes to working class people. They either have 'problems', or they have attitude problems where they might stab you or rob you, or they are championed in an extremely patronising manner. Susan has been the recipient of two of these treatments of her by the media.

I've seen her speak sometimes and she appears quite considered and thoughtful.

People speak as if we know her, but we really don't.

I think it's more the case that she isn't used to being in front of the cameras on television so acts a bit like mad Auntie May.
But it's not as though she really is mad. She's just a member of the public who isn't used to that environment. I'd imagine that many people would act a bit out of character if they found themselves thrust onto telly and not know quite how to act.
She could just be quite shy and is overcompensating, because I've seen that happen with people before in real life and not on TV.

You get people like that a lot in real life when a camera is on location and the presenter starts talking to local people.
You'd get a Susan Boyle practically every week on 'That's Life' and shows like it.

But Carole Malone is doing the same sort of thing by treating her as though she's a sub-normal species or something.

It's probably bad but I can't help wishing that Susan would give her a direct **** off two fingers.

She's over done it and comes across a bit rude, but her points are valid I think. I worry what will happen to Susan Boyle aswell and just hope she copes with it all.

Talk about cramming every cliche and soundbite into every sentence as possible.....then she's aced it.

I'm totally disgusted with this woman who calls herself a journalist....and is adding every single headline and cliche that she can find to cram into her tabloid, but with a few of her own to try and make it edgy like 'brain damaged' and 'idiot' carefully apart from each other, but the suggestion was there anyway.....and as subtle as a sledgehammer.

I've no doubt that after the 3 paragraphs that she goes on to pretend how sorry she feels about Susan.....bla bla bloody bla.

She's more of a media whore than anyone that she's ever wrote about and I despise her style of writing with a passion....and in this instance, she's the biggest bandwagonig journalist of them all given that she couldn't manage to get a direct interview with the subject that she's writing about.
