She's not thick though.
I've seen her speak sometimes and she appears quite considered and thoughtful.
People speak as if we know her, but we really don't.
I think it's more the case that she isn't used to being in front of the cameras on television so acts a bit like mad Auntie May.
But it's not as though she really is mad. She's just a member of the public who isn't used to that environment. I'd imagine that many people would act a bit out of character if they found themselves thrust onto telly and not know quite how to act.
She could just be quite shy and is overcompensating, because I've seen that happen with people before in real life and not on TV.
You get people like that a lot in real life when a camera is on location and the presenter starts talking to local people.
You'd get a Susan Boyle practically every week on 'That's Life' and shows like it.
