What annoys me is that Susan wasn't let out of the funny farm to go on BGT. She keeps her own home, looks after herself and a pet. She doesn't have or need a carer. So whatever difficulties she has in life she copes with very well. So yes, she took part in a program, but her expectation was the same as everyone elses, and I'm sure Susan felt she could deal with it. The media frenzy and interest in Susan is unprecedented. Simon Cowell didn't expect it so why should Susan have done? Her not being able to cope with it, (that's if it is true), could have happened to any of the other contestants if they had been treated like she had. The amount of interest they got is what she expected. Yes Cowell should have given her more protection, but that would apply to any contestant having to go through what she did. There are ways of being on someone's side and sticking up for them, without making it seem like no one else can kick the idiot except me, (carole malone).

I can't stand Carole Malone. She stuck up for Jade, Danielle and whatserface when they ganged up on Shilpa, and she did an article in support of poor hard done by Karen Matthews - before the truth came out.

The woman is a viper.

Yep. What she does is try and second guess her audience and jumps on bandwagons.........................way too late.

She doesn't have the first clue about current trends. I.e. that the current trend is reverting back to feeling a bit of understanding for Susan Boyle as opposed to outrage.

She's like you say....a total viper, but also a leech and bandwagoner with no ideas of her own other than adding a few negative intones of her own. And in this case the brain damaged one is worse than I've read in any of the negative press for Susan Boyle.

She's a total disgrace to her profession....that is if she can even prove that she's got one.

I'm glad it's not just me.

You summed her up much better than I did.

Ask Carole Malone...but prepared to wait a while whilst she asks the whole country before doing the math and getting it totally wrong and then giving you your answer.

I didn't know Carol was a leading psyciatrist now? and she only had to watch a person on tv and hear/read some gossip about them.

She then tells people to go back to their little home and not bother us again, because they are not the usual package, she and her friends might not be able to cope with that.

If Susan does want to give up it's up to her. The same choice Carol has got.

So what, she has 2 1/4 of chromosome 21?

noorani - I have a mentally handicapped aunt who lives on her own, she copes with help from family and friends. Don't assume that someone is mentally "normal" or very close to it just because they are able to live alone.
