This is an argument that will go on for weeks. Susan is nothing more than an unattractive woman with a good voice. The BRITISH public has spoken voted in millions and voted Diversity, who clearly thought they outshone Susan tonight.

Yes, for the first time in the history of my life I will watch it.

I really love these guys.

Amen!! The percentages can't come out quickly enough as far as I'm concerned. If she has x amount of fans, and deserved to win so ****ing badly, why didn't she?

Only a few explanations:

a) Her fans were passive and didn't vote
b) People thought she had it in the bag and didn't vote
c) People ganged up on her (highly unlikely considering the results of that poll linked to in this thread)
d) People switched camps, like myself, after being blown away by Diversity and decided to change who they were going to vote for.

If I had listened to him and not made my own mind up, then I would have wanted Susan Boyle to win, I really thought she had it in the bag going by all the publicity around her and the judges comments. I have nothing against her at all, by the way. Just always wanted Diversity right from the very beginning. Funnily enough, I can make my own mind up.

Surely the whole point of BGT is to find someone to perform at the RVP, not give someone a future in showbiz! Yes, a long-term career may be the aim of some of the contestants, but it shouldn't be assumed that they all feel that way. Nor should it be assumed that having a career in showbiz is the be-all-and-end-all!

The way I see it, the most talented act won the competition and they'll be performing at the RVP! Their future post-RVP is irrelevant, so voting based on who you think will have career longevity is a nonsense!

That's exactly the way the voting public seem to have viewed it alright. The ironic thing is though that many of the people who voted for Diversity tonight won't even bother watching the RVP ; the BGT final tonight was expected to have 17m+ viewers....not sure about the RVP but I think it only gets 6m or so viewers every year.

I think the reason Susan didnt win cos people were just fed up of all the coverage of her plus after her amazing 1st performance when she sang again it was just not up to the same standard. I think Diversity needed to win more and I'm glad they did cos I thought they were the best performers on the night and they did it without the massive hype

Yes, there's even some idiots on youtube stating the bloody obvious saying that they aren't going to sell many records! Really??! They seem to be getting confused with shows like the X Factor and Pop idol.

There is not much doubt Diversity were the best act on the night and probably the most consistently impressive through out the series. It's nice to see the British public can vote on what they witness in the show, rather than having made their minds up days or weeks before the show has even started (like much of the media seemed to have done along with "the world")

All in all, I'm quite happy with that result. Diversity weren't my favourites, but they are undeniably talented and creative.

Not a bad ending at all

I thought that Diversity were very deserving winners.

They have a fair amount of rubbish on the Royal Variety show. Surely they could find time for the top 3 acts.

e) the public realised she was obviously unable to cope with all the media attention and didnt feel it was right to put her through any more

Much as I admire the sentiment - it would be the exception to prove the rule if that were the case. RTV-voting GBP are not generally known for their subtlety of approach with their RTV-contestant-cannon-fodder.
