The whole thing seemed a little out of proportion to me. We seemed to spend ages on the people who came close to winning but just a nano second on the actual winner, why? If time was so important then why did they delay things with stupid quizes for Dean and Helen?

Davinas end to the show was unbelieveably flat and unimaginative (dont get me wrong I think she is great) but I really reckon Dermot was best for that type of live show ending. Then when she did bring it all to an abrupt end, why was nobody else on the stage enjoying the moment?

On a good point, the BB show gets a big 10 out of 10 for the spooky way they ended the life in the house, it left me with goosebumps hearing the voices and seeing the lights go out. Very well done there.

All in all though I thought it was a rather dissapointing climax which was poorly co-ordinated by the BB team. The E4 coverage was so frustrating with the spoilers (sound gaps).

Oh well

I have to agree with you 100% - it was way to much of an abrupt ending!

I would have enjoyed seeing brian spend time with Narinder again, and say just a minute with him jumping about celebrating afterwards... all they needed was an extra 5 minutes or so with a decent interview of brain and his celebrating.

I was actually VERY disappointed...

I might be the only one but I really really really enjoyed the finale!!!!!!!
It was like 100 times better then last year and it all seemed to be right in place!
And I don't think Davina would be able to interview Brian at that time well because he was so gobsmacked that he had won!!!!
ALL IN ALL THAT WAS THE BEST SHOW AND EPISODE OF THE YEAR!!!!

I have to agree with the thought that the finale was badly handled.

Last year, Davina interviewed Craig insdie the house. He then left (same fireworks) and met the other housemates and adoring crowd.

It was obvious how Brian was going to handle the situation - he was absolutely convinced he wasn't going to win (or is a very good actor for the cynics out there). He was completely awestruck by the crowd, which made it very difficult for Davina to interview him properly.

The producers should have dedicated more time to Brian - after all, he was the winner or the 70k - with an interview in the house, and then bring him out to meet the fans other housemates properly (he only saw Narinder and Penny cos he dashed away from Davina). This could have been done by either by dropping the naff bits, or lengthening the programme to 90 mins (which wouldn't affect too much at that time last night).

That aside, it was another excellent programme (both the Ch4 and E4 coverage) and a fitting end to BB2.

The way the Show ended actually put a tear in my eye, literally! Its sad the TV event of 2001 is over. I liked it last year where craig was interviewed in the house. I also liked the way they did the stage for the final show last year- much better than this years stage, and I also liked last years studio. This years studio semmed blander.

the E4 coverage on Friday was disappointing.

(Sad though it may be....) I had 1 TV set to E4, the other to Channel 4, running side by side.

Before Dean's evection, E4 appeared to be running 5-10 minutes behind, and then went to a ad break, and so we failed to see dean's eviction.

Then, on the final announcement, Brians face was constantly on the screen for 10 seconds, without cutting to Helen's (unlike Channel 4). bit of a give away who was going to win!

Also, they showned part of Brian's Big Brother talk, following his win, but then cut it. It would have been nice to see all of them (there were at least 2 I can remember).

How about next year, a truely live E4 service, and no cutting of sound.

Surely we can have some form of 'Parental' control, to allow us 'grown ups' to hear all conversations during the normal day time, that should please the officials.

I wanted to see Davina talking to Brian in the house like last year with Craig.
I thought Helen coped with Davina question very skillfully.
When people slag off BB I say , look at someone like Helen, an ordinary person like me or you, who has had an experience she will remember for the rest of her life, even if her 'stardom' only lasts a few weeks, she'll have something to cherish and tell her children and grandchildren about in later years. A once in a lifetime experience, that will be special to her for the rest of her life.
She will always have that moment, when her star was in ascendency, however briefly.
(and the same goes for the rest of the BB housemates).
How could anyone begrudge them that?.???

No we cant. I dont know how many people have pointed this out in how man topics.
1. ITV Digital and Cable have NO parental facilities
2. Even if there was some way around that there would still be some cutting- slander etc...
3. 90% of the cuts were just "spoilers" anyway.

I think the whole programme was quite good.

I do agree that Brian should have been interviewed in the house. You couldn't get him to concentrate with all the screaming crowd.

I think Channel 4 should have allowed for an over-run. If the cricket over runs they stick with it. It was Channel 4's biggest show of the summer and they should have allowed it to over run.

Also why did E4 leave coverage of the house for half an hour to accomodate Nu Skool. Surely they could have delayed that until this Friday. It seemed a weird scheduling move, on the last day of Big Brother, having live coverage up until 10pm all the way through the channel 4 show and then cutting away for half an hour, and returning at the same time as the second Channel 4 show.

i had the webcam stream on at the same time as the live show for the final

this time they actually showed inside the diary room on the web and they were explaining to brian about the fireworks and what to expect when he came out

brian kept asking could he go and have a wee

he seemed to know who 'big brother' was on first name terms and was asking all sorts of questions which big brother doesnt normally answer

they said that the interview will take place on the stage so long as the crowd wasn't too noisy

brian was excited about getting to wear one of those headset mic's hehehe

I thought Davina wasnt her normal self at all.

whilst interviewing Helen she asked a question and then constantly interupted with her opinion not letting Helen speak.

Same with Brian.
It was ludicrous to hold the interview outdoors and was a poor end to a good series.

Next year I hope Davina is rested and they give the job to someone better.
