Anyone here work for Subway?
Why don't you microwave stuff for the preset amount of time instead of stopping it short and serving your customer a luke warm Mega Breakfast?

I'm a bit of an addict - jalapeņos make a sandwich; but I restrict myself to the cold ones now as pretty much every Subway I go to regularly non of the staff (if they're quiet) can be bothered to wait for the full amount of time on the microwave / toaster.
If they're busy it's not a problem as they slap your stuff in the microwave and then start serving another customer, so you get it heated for the full amount of time and it's really nice. |

Yet another chain serving sub-standard mass produced shite. Support your local sandwich shop instead.

Sorry to sabotage your thread, but my 'regular' (once a month maybe) 'sub' of choice would be a chicken breast on wheat...
If i'm in Nottingham (Market Sq especially) they insist on microwaving the chicken, even though i'm gonna be eating later cold. If i'm in the North West (Southport/Standish usually) They'll just bung the chicken on the 'sub' cold.. My question is which is gonna give me salmonella the quickest???

Evening all! To answer the original question: Quote:

The Mega Breakfast, and infact none of the breakfast Subs should be going anywhere near the microwave! If the store is using the correct toaster settings, the breakfast Subs can simply be prepared, slid into the toaster and then back out again after 40 seconds or so at the perfect temperature!I think some stores using the older toasters do microwave the sausage and egg prior to toasting, but there really shouldn't be any need for it. Either way though, the staff shouldn't be taking them out early. As them to heat them through a little bit longer for you, they'll huff and puff about it for a bit, but it's you that's paying their wage! Quote:

They're actually not allowed to do that anymore as if the chicken is heated, the Sub becomes liable for VAT. Do they still charge you the Cold Take-Out price even after microwaving it? There's no reason for the chicken to only be served hot, it's cooked, held at the right temperatire and ready to be eaten. I have no idea why some stores insist on doing this.
