There's a couple of good ones in town. The Odd Cod and one I always have a childish giggle at is Tailend Fisheries.

Most of the the others are just named after the owner or street/area they are in.

I remember seeing a similar thread, must have been yours TommyGavin.

There is "The Plaice to Be", great chippy and it's actually pretty cheap.

"The Codfather" is another.

"Chip Bank", and "Blue Dolphin", but they don't actually serve dolphin lol.

You would think that Plaice would be a common word in a title but maybe we should give the owners more credit not to go down the same route.

Another in town that has just changed names (seems like the same staff inside, yet smaller portions ) is The Almighty Cod.

I always wondered why they aren't called fish and chips shops. After all, nobody buys a singular chip. You buy fish and chips, but apparently from a fish and chip shop. It makes no sense.

There's one in Wales, called "A Fish Called Rhondda"

Talking of Chippies, I always find that they are so much better up North, you can't get Steak Pudding in the South

Damn you're cheaper than my local place, plus you do cod, which mine doesn't.
That offer you've got going seems a good deal.
I'd visit but the round trip from Leeds might prove a little expensive.

Our local chippy is called Heatherton's. Highly original, since that's the name of the estate. It does a mean kebab meat and chips, which is about the size of some of the larger houses on the estate...

The ones around here do as well. I think they'd go out of business if they didn't open on Sundays, but then again it is a coastal town.
